FlipSide over mouz to ELEAGUE final

FlipSid3 are the second team to advance to ELEAGUE's Group E final after beating mousesports 2-0 (16-9 on Overpass and 16-9 on Cache) in what may be considered an upset match.

The second ELEAGUE Group E semifinal was between the second and third seeds of the group, MOUZ and FlipSid3 respectively. The first map was Overpass and it was FlipSid3 who got the ball rolling on the first pistolround with Oleksandr "Shara" Hordieyev picking up three kills and mousesports not being able to plant the bomb.

Shara and Jan "wayLander" Rahkonen had no problem taking down mouz's eco rounds and the German-Dutch-Bosnian team generally were not able to find an answer to FlipSid3's defense until the eighth round, when a series of entry kills and a double AWP from Chris "chrisJ" de Jong netted mousesports their first round.

FlipSid3 broke that momentum with more superb defense and pulled ahead to a 10-1 CT lead before another double kill from chrisJ and overall mouz aggression got them another round. The second attempt also ultimately failed as FlipSid3's dominance proved too strong and they ended the half up 13-2.

Captain B1ad3 led his team on Overpass

mousesports got the second half of Overpass started right with a strong CT-side pistolround and a triple kill from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač helped shut down an early FlipSid3 buy to keep mouz moving upwards on their comeback. Despite a NiKo ace clutch round on the 22nd round, FlipSid3 were ultimately able to get the necessary rounds and took the first map 16-9.

Cache saw FlipSid3 explode on their T-side pistolround onto the A site but mousesports managed to successfully retake thanks to the antics of NiKo and chrisJ. The early plant allowed FlipSid3 to buy on the third round and they simply overwhelmed mousesports and were able to pull ahead in the score to 3-2.

Strong AWPing from duo NiKo and chrisJ gave mousesports the sixth round but it was yet again FlipSid3 who began to pull away on their CT-side as wayLander,Yegor "markeloff" Markelov, and Shara all began to pick up impactful kills for the CIS team. Ultimately FlipSid3 finished the half up 11-4.

chrisJ had moments of brilliance on both maps

A quad kill from dangerous Dutchman chrisJ on the second pistolround breathed life into mousesports and the team rocketed ahead in rounds, including somehow winning the 20th round while executing onto B-site with three FlipSid3 players with guns present.

A FlipSid3 pistol buy in the very next round saw Georgi "WorldEdit" Yaskin snatch up two Five Seven kills and the rest of the team shut mousesports down and pick up a round to make the score 12-8. After moving up to 14-8, FlipSid3 were unable to defend against a mouz A site take, which gave the latter team a final entry into the map and series.

However, with WorldEdit in fine form again and despite the actual ELEAGUE stream crashing in the final minutes of the game, it was FlipSid3 who completed their conquest of mousesports as underdogs and advanced to the ELEAGUE Group E final.
