HCC #2 with $10,000 prize pool
Hitbox has joined forces with Razer for the second edition of its Challenger Cup, with $10,000 on offer.
Just two months after the end of the first edition of the HCC, which saw AGG secure the top prize of €3,000, the streaming platform and PixelFire have announced the second iteration of the tournament, with a bumped $10,000 prize purse.
Sixteen teams from all over Europe will be taking part in HCC #2 by Razer, which is scheduled to start on Monday, June 27. Fifteen of those spots have been filled through invites, while the remaining place will be given to the winner of an open 512-team qualifier, which will start on Saturday at 12:00 .
Maniac to compete in Team TBA alongside SKYTTEN, HS, mertz and Spitfire
The 16 competing teams will be split into four GSL groups, with the top two teams advancing to the playoffs, which will also feature a double-elimination format.
"We are glad to announce the second edition of the Hitbox Challenger Cup in collaboration with Razer," said Hitbox Events Manager Jason Atkins.
"Built on the success of the first Hitbox Challenger Cup, organised by PixelFire and in-coperation with cases4real.com, we were able to raise the prize pool to a whopping 10,000 USD!
"Once again the field of competitors is stacked with top European teams and we can’t wait for the action to kick off next month."
