ESL has announced G2 and SK Gaming's new team as the first two invited squads for the upcoming ESL One event in New York.

Both teams were the finalists of the recent ESL Pro League Season 3 finals and also faced off in the title decider at the ECS Season 1 Finals, last weekend, with the French side securing the trophy with a 2-0 victory.

On October 1-2, the Barclays Center, home of NBA franchise Brooklyn Nets and of NHL team New York Islanders, will stage ESL One New York - the second stop of the ESL One 2016 circuit to feature CS:GO (the first being the Cologne Major).

Eight top teams will be facing off during this two-day tournament for their share of a $250,000 prize pool, with the format expected to be revealed in the coming weeks, along with the names of the remaining attending sides.

Tickets for ESL One New York, which will also feature a Street Fighter V tournament, can be purchased at the event's official website, with prices ranging from $39 to $159.

Thanks. And only my opinion, but events need to make LAN start in front of a crowd, not wait for the group stage to be over to make the players play in the big stage. Maybe they think they wouldn't sell enough tickets the first day or first two days because it's the week so they start on the playoffs on Saturday. But to me it's not amazing for the players who are not gonna reach the playoffs and played like they would be at home (except that the ping is low and the team they are facing is meters away, but no crowd cheering).
