Virtus.pro beat Gambit; to group final
Virtus.pro have secured a spot in the ELEAGUE Group F final after beating Gambit Gaming on two maps (16-6 on Mirage and Cobblestone).
Mirage kicked off the series, and here Virtus.pro got off to a blazing start as they got out to a quick 3-0 lead and then won the first full gun round, leaving Gambit's economy in shambles. The Russian team then came close to winning a force buy, but Filip "NEO" Kubski saved the day with a 1vs3 clutch during an A retake.
The following round went Gambit's way, following a trio of kills from Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov, but their economy would soon be reset as Virtus.pro hit back without mercy. The Polish giants would remain in the driving seat until the end of the half, cruising to a commanding 13-2 lead.
The second half began with Gambit getting the first four rounds to give themselves a fighting chance. But then Virtus.pro replied on a force buy on the back of two entry frags from Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, and put together a great run of rounds en route to a 16-6 finish.
Virtus.pro will face EnVyUs in the group final
Map two, Cobblestone, followed the same pattern of the first as Virtus.pro stormed to an 11-1 lead. With no margin for error, Gambit tightened up their defense and still managed to get two more rounds before the end of the half.
More misery was heaped on Gambit in the early stages of the second half, however, as Virtus.pro won the opening four rounds to hit match point. Rustem "mou" Telepov still kept Gambit in the game after winning a 1vs1 duel, but it would not take long before Virtus.pro closed out the game and sealed passage to the group's final, against EnVyUs.
