ESL One Cologne viewer's guide

With ESL One Cologne just around the corner, we have prepared a viewer's guide which contains all the information you need to keep up with the Major, including the group draw, the schedule and the talent lineup.

Running from Tuesday to Sunday at the LANXESS Arena, ESL One Cologne - the second Major of the year - will see 16 of the world's top teams face off for their share of a $1 million prize purse.

The group stage, featuring a best-of-one format in the first three matches and then a best-of-three format in the decider clashes, will be played behind closed doors.

CS:GO Major returns to LANXESS Arena - now with $1 million on offer

2016-07-04 19:04
what do you mean? how will the veto go?
2016-07-04 19:10
3 replies
I'm not so sure honestly but at the last major the teams vetoed about 4 maps overall in some order i dont know. And the map gets randomly drawn out of the remaining maps. This veto format is not up to the tournament organizer, its up to valve to decide it.
2016-07-04 19:48
Higher Seed starts Veto: Bo1: Veto T1 Veto T2 Veto T2 Veto T1 Random out of 3. [it is possible that they changed it so that Team T1 has 3 vetos and the randomiser only chooses out of 2 maps] Bo3: Veto T1 Veto T2 Pick T1 Pick T2 Random out of 3.

They are doing the same system as MLG where higher team picks if they want 3 vetos or to pick the side they start on then goes: Veto Team A Veto Team B Veto Team A Veto Team B Veto Team A Random out of last 2 Team B gets to pick starting side

I prefer bo3's for majors, more tension, more excitement. bo5's can be really, really long. is too much for a major. bo5's are better for smaller, more obscure lan tournaments imo.

I see what you mean but sometimes the better team doesn't always win in a bo3 all because of a small mistake or maybe even the randomiser favouring the weaker team. I prefer bo5 for this big tournament is all im saying.
