Cloud9 win iBP Summer Invitational

Cloud9 win the iBUYPOWER 2016 Summer Invitational after defeating TSM 2-0 (16-14 on Dust2 and 16-5 on Train).

The iBUYPOWER 2016 Summer Invitational was the next installment in the hardware company's series of seasonal online tournaments for North American teams, with eight teams competing for $16,000 in prize money this time around.

This time around the quarter-finals of the tournament saw no particular upsets and, with #17 ranked Cloud9 taking down Selfless 2-0 in their semifinal and #14 ranked TSM defeating Echo Fox 2-0 in the other semifinal, the grand final expectedly saw the two Top 20 ranked North American teams competing in the Invitational as the the last two standing teams.

Cloud9 defended their iBP Invitational title against TSM

On the first map of Dust2, Cloud9 (who were the defending champions as they had won the previous iBUYPOWER Spring Invitational a few months earlier) displayed a brisk and confident T-side and closed the first half with a 10-5 lead.

Despite Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken getting a second pistolround ace for TSM and TSM taking the lead late into the first map, a series of clutches from the likes of Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham and Mike "shroud" Grzesiek helped Cloud9 take the first map 16-14.

Train was the second map and here Cloud9 were much more poised as they pulled off a 11-4 CT half and then quickly closed out the map 16-5 (despite it being TSM's map pick) to win the iBUYPOWER 2016 Summer Invitational and go home $10,000 richer.

Not an ounce. They are amazing! The way SEMPHIS has consistently bottom fragged for a would-be top 10 team, he fits in perfect for FaZe. And slemmy, dragging down two top NA players, sound like the right replacement for aizy.
