Team X, Epsilon to PGL Summer

Team X and Epsilon will represent Europe at the ProGamer League (PGL) Summer Finals, the event's organisers have announced.

Running from July 22-24 at the Optics Valley Stadium, in Wuhan, PGL Summer will see eight teams battle it out for their share of a $100,000 prize pool - one of the biggest prize funds in Asian Counter-Strike.

Formerly known as SK Gaming, Team X made headlines at the start of the month as they were disqualified from ELEAGUE as a result of being dropped by the organisation, who could no longer field the five players who had been submitted at the start of the season.

The Danish team will be attending the event with Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, who has been playing for the squad following the departure of Asger "AcilioN" Larsen to North American side Splyce.

Friis' Team X to attend Chinese event

Epsilon were recently in action at DreamHack ZOWIE Open Summer 2016, where they knocked HellRaisers out of the tournament before losing out to Ninjas in Pyjamas in the group's decider match.

The Nordic duo will be joined by six Chinese teams, including Spring champions TyLoo, at the PGL event, which will kick off with a round-robin group stage, followed by a single-elimination bracket.

The list of participants for the Chinese event currently looks as follows:

China TYLOO China Born Of Fire
China FIVE China VG.CyberZen
China Energy Pacemaker China eFuture
Sweden Epsilon Denmark X

2016-07-18 17:02
at first, i thought why would RO.PGL organise a lan in China lol
2016-07-18 17:08
honestly, me too :D
2016-07-18 17:27
Chinese PGL exists since 2005 or even longer. It was long time the partner organisation of ESL when it came to China. The organisation made alot of events in Wc3 and Dota (the mod, not Dota II).
2016-07-18 17:48
And romanian PGL exists since 2002. So what?
2016-07-18 22:36
wtf people actually give a fuck to Romanian?
2016-07-19 02:00
China? LOL
2016-07-19 18:03
wut is Romania? ⊙︿⊙
2016-07-19 10:34
China pls.
2016-07-19 18:02
Weird ass tournament
2016-07-18 17:01
WTF LOL why not just make team full Chinese.... the Chinese can't speak English over there can they?
2016-07-18 17:02
6 Chinese teams and 2 noob EU teams are invited just to not prevent the Chinese ones from winning their share, but to keep an international status of the tournament. 100k USD and those teams, lol, fu with your shit.
2016-07-18 17:06
This is the very first event of CS GO in Asia besides the MSI BEAT IT which was ages ago. Its normal to invite lesser known Western teams to start things what can Chinese teams do when Western leagues are not inviting TyLoo. Its better to host it in Asia and Alibaba is organizing a much bigger event end of this year which will surely have the worlds best
2016-07-18 17:15
They could easily invite dignitas and ex-Orbit (MK) for example, or Kinguin, and it would me much more interesting to watch.
2016-07-18 17:18
ex-Orbit really xD?
2016-07-18 17:27
ok they don't have any support, but dignitas and kinguin do have $$$ to travel, why to invite Epsilon and orgless ex-SK?
2016-07-18 17:45
imo dignitas, team X, epsilon, Kinguin, MK (ex-orbit) are all in the same level,so i dont see a problem here
2016-07-18 17:51
i think dignitas is stronger than any on those teams, and they need to practise with Magiskb0Y, so attending that tournament would be good for them team x is just a mix, they lost many players epsilon is... well, nothing special
2016-07-18 17:55
team x has potential to be a good team, top2 denmark contender alongside dignitas.. epsilon has young players with potential, but well, they will probably be forever labeled as "onliners"
2016-07-18 19:51
What exactly will be more entertaining? Seeing eu teams rekt chinese ones?
2016-07-18 19:22
i dont think dignitas or kinguin would rek Tyloo, but we won't know it anyway cuz they invited some shitty tier teams instead
2016-07-18 21:22
But would they go? Are you an idiot? There are much larger tournaments in that timespan in Europe. Get a grip "Never get tired of having Down syndrome"
2016-07-18 17:29
There are much larger tournaments in that timespan in Europe Name them, you fatfuck.
2016-07-18 17:46
Still waiting for his response
2016-07-18 20:41
Looks like he's just a low tier baiter, so...
2016-07-18 21:21
$100,000 prizepool with no tier 1 teams, tyloo being tier 2 at best. European teir 1 teams from Europe should happily accept going to this event since there isn't much competition.
2016-07-18 18:43
Well it is a long trip and a commitment. Tyloo is probably better than most tier two teams. They narrowly lost to C9 and G2. Beat LG and Liquid and Immortals all of whom are tier 1 (immortals are like borderline).
2016-07-18 19:30
Either because they want Tyloo to have the biggest chance of winning or simply that other teams were not available at a time when most people hold their vacations.
2016-07-18 18:17
rofl, shit tournament with tier 10 EU teams
2016-07-18 17:07
Nt 3rd world Japan with darkies. Jk but you do understand why the tier 1/2/3 teams aren't coming all the way just to have a chance at winning 50k while bigger tournaments are going on in EU?
2016-07-18 17:31
why no ence
2016-07-18 17:08
