Pro League wildcards up for vote

ESL has announced that the final two Pro League spots will be determined by community vote and a subsequent decider match in each region.

With Season 4 of the ESL Pro League due to start on August 17, there are still two slots - one per division - up for grabs, which will be filled by wildcard teams.

Instead of issuing invites like it did last season, when FaZe and Renegades took the final spots in the league, ESL has revealed that the last two teams will be determined by community vote, with four sides in the running per division. The two teams with the most votes will then battle it out in a best-of-three decider match.

Virtus.pro could get a spot back in Pro League

ELEAGUE champions Virtus.pro, who were demoted to the Premier division after losing a relegation match against PENTA, could be getting a redemption vote and stay in the Pro League if they pass the vote and then better either Gambit, GODSENT and ENCE for the final spot.

In North America, it will be Luminosity's new team, ECS Season 1 finals surprise package TSM, Echo Fox and Kaliber vying for the wildcard spot.

Fans can vote for their favorite teams by heading over to ESL's website, where voting will stay open until Monday, August 8, at 20:00 , while the dates of the decider matches are still undetermined.

So league A is now league B? Sorry but vp got a whole season to win more than 6 matches, then at final the league got extended and they only needed to win ONE match and they failed. Then they created a tourney so they got another chance. They got 2 chances there and at the end they failed to win from penta. At final, they also decline the premier spot because they're too good for that... Sorry but if they had played a season in premier, I was okay with it but this is just pure shit for other teams. Whatever happens, vp will stay in the league because esl wants that

WHAT??? So it's like previous season of EPL didn't even happen for VP. Finnishing last place and losing relegation match (to fuckin PENTA!!!) should be punishing. Some teams like Echo Fox atleast won Premier. I watched that match last night, and it's not like they're even clear-cut to win ESEA-Main anymore. There are plenty of other teams who fit ESL's criteria and are just as accomplished as LG/WinOut. Which is why I'm calling bullsheet. Which is fine, but atleast be honest ;)

Well its hard to win ESEA-Main without your full roster.

They're allowed to use their full five in the playoffs. It was only during the regular season they had to use AGM and Jacobson.

Expected from <3 NEO but usually the winner of Premier gets their spot at Pro League, now ESL changed it just because VP was not in Premier and had no chance to go through from there. The winner of Premier should go on BO3 against the last of EPL in a relegation match (that is what happened before and Virtus.Premier lost the relegation match against PENTA) And then the wild card spot should be filled by playing not by a fucking popularity contest. It's obvious there is no chance for teams likes of ENCE to get in EPL (not that they belong to there, they suck LOL) because Finlands CS:GO scene is like 10k people and like 1k of them even knows what ESL is. And they are supposed to have a popularity contest over teams from Poland / Sweden / Russia. Yeah, no way.

Could ESL favorite VP a little bit more? First VP loses almost every game in Pro league. Second ESL changes the pro league rules to support 14 teams so VP gets a chance to qualify straight away. (they lose miserably to PENTA) And this as a third... Lets take 3 small EU orgs and put them againts one of the biggest. That sounds so damn fair.

Don't be stupid (sorry for people voting for another team) guys, vote for TSM. They are clearly the stronger team (in those 4) and are a Tier 2/3 team when playing to their best. Basically number 3 USA after Liquid and C9 (and few weeks ago they were better than C9 and were top 2). They might still be top 2 USA because C9 almost beating NaVi doesn't prove anything (NaVi plays bad right now) and C9 beating TSM was more of a TSM fail than a great performance by C9 (and it was a random online tourney).
