g3x qualify for ESEA GC LAN
g3x have won the ESEA Open Season 22 Brazil playoffs over BigGods and have secured their spot in the $50,000 Global Challenge Finals.
The ESEA Season 22 Global Challenge Finals will offer up $50,000 in prize money for eight teams from regions around the world, with Europe and North America each receiving two spots through their Premier division playoffs and the four remaining regions a spot apiece through their Open division playoffs.
With the action taking place from August 27-28 at ESL's studio in Katowice, Poland (the same location for the Cologne Major qualifier), Europe, North America, South Africa, Asia, and Australia all completed their qualifying brackets by the time the grand final for Open Season 22 of the Brazil region rolled around.
steel's g3x will be Brazil's representative at the ESEA Global Challenge LAN
With Brazilian teams Broken tag and Broken tag having fallen by the wayside as first and second seeds in the playoff bracket, it was actually Broken tag's Broken tag and Broken tag (only two-fifths of the BigGods lineup who won the MLG Minor South America qualifier back in April) who met in the grand final.
The first map of Mirage was a struggle for both teams, but eventually g3x managed to grind out the victory 22-20 following a double overtime thriller. On the second map of Cache however, the BigGods were no match for Broken tag & co. as g3x took Cache 16-4 and won ESEA Open Season 22 Brazil and therefore qualified for the Global Challenge Finals in Katowice.
