Winterfox reveal new roster

Winterfox has officially announced their new roster via Facebook, featuring a line-up from the Oceania region with the majority being Australian and the rest occupied by New Zealanders.

Earlier in the week, ESL updated its fantasy game before the Pro League matches began. They accidentally leaked some changes, which had not been revealed by the organisations involved, including the additions made by CLG.

To no one’s surprise, the new Winterfox squad will consist of former members from Immunity, Legacy and Chiefs. Following in the footsteps of their Australian brothers at Renegades, Ryan "zewsy" Palmer and company will move over to the USA to compete. Alexander "LeX" Deily and Warren "hades" Rettich of the former roster, will be standing alongside these players.

zewsy to play for Winterfox's new team

In the announcement, here is what Chris "emagine" Rowlands said on their pick up:

“We're excited and grateful for this opportunity, to those that have supported us we appreciate it. We look to expand Australia's reach on the world stage and further represent our nation to the best of our ability.”

Despite losing their trio of David "Xp3" Garrido, Todd "anger" Williams, and Kyle "flowsicK" Mendez, who departed to form a new team with two Swedish players, it has been revealed by ESL that the NA Pro League spot will stay with the Winterfox organisation. Therefore, the Australian-New Zealand mixture are set to play in the Pro League instead of the former line-up who are currently searching for a new home.

Ulrich Schulze, ESL's Vice President of Gaming, stated on Tuesday that a league spot belongs to an organisation and not to a team. Regardless of ESL reviewing this case, not everyone is happy with the decision made. This is due to different results for other teams and organisations in a similar situation, such as Luminosity and SK Gaming.

Winterfox now have the following roster:

New Zealand Ryan "zewsy" Palmer
New Zealand Chris "ofnu" Hanley
Australia Chris "emagine" Rowlands
Australia Christopher "dexter" Nong
Australia Mike "ap0c" Aliferis

United States Alexander "LeX" Deily
United States Warren "hades" Rettich

he wasnt the best but he was like the NA krimz no joke. he was consistent for them and got 1-2 frags when they needed it or in situations he was in an advantage would normally come thru never really got caught out being a scrub that much. big shoes to fill for them even if he was their 3rd or 4th best player

can you explain to me why people post questions before reading the full article? i have never understood why someone would do this... would be thankful for any light shed on the matter.

I read the official WFX statement and iirc it didn't touch on the EPL spot, I entered this article just to see what their main roster would be like (so I was just scanning the last part) - expecting both of the remaining Americans to be in there - and I didn't expect to read anything else than that. To add, honestly if you can't understand why people ask a question before reading an article or just scanning something it is people being lazy.
2016-08-20 12:52
"will be standing alongside these players." = Will be paid to ride the roster so the Winterfox org won't lose their spot in Premier. Not sure why ESEA allows this when it's blatantly a move to buy a ESEA-P spot for a bunch of random Australians that never earned the spot.

Pretty smart by them in terms of recognition, because the Australian cs community wants to back another team competing frequently in NA and also attracts NZ fans. But if they just acquired more NA teams they would have no fan base.
