ELEAGUE S2 NA teams found

ELEAGUE's Season 2 team list is now complete with the addition of Immortals, SK, Echo Fox, and OpTic from the North America Closed Qualifier.

This evening saw the conclusion of the ELEAGUE Season 2 North America Closed Qualifier with four teams advancing to the $1.4 million season season: Immortals, SK, Echo Fox, and OpTic.

The gears for ELEAGUE Season 2 went into motion in late August with an official announcement which made several changes to the league, such as trimming the teams list from 24 teams to 16 teams and also changing the group stages to a double elimination format rather than the two-stage seeding system.

The second season also ushered in a series of open qualifiers in both Europe and North America, with an eventual lead-up to closed qualifiers to determine four spots for each region (in addition to the top eight finishing teams from the first season).

With the European region finishing its closed qualifer last week, the North America qualifier kicked off soon afterwards and the round-of-sixteen quickly saw participating teams from Season 1 get knocked out such as compLexity, CLG, and Selfless.

Echo Fox claimed the ELEAGUE Season 2 spot from Liquid

With the round-of-eight in effect determining the four teams to advance to ELEAGUE Season 2, the first series saw Immortals grind out TSM 2-0 across two rather closely contested maps (16-14 on Mirage and 16-10 on Cobblestone).

The match-up between the world's best team SK and NRG was meanwhile a blowout with the Brazilian superteam waltzing to a comfortable 2-0 victory (16-8 on Dust2 and 16-7 on Overpass).

Those looking for a close series finally received a treat when Echo Fox took on Liquid as, following a 16-11 victory for Liquid on Mirage and a 16-9 sweep for Echo Fox on Nuke, the decider map of Dust2 saw Spencer "Hiko" Martin & co. let slip an eight round lead (12-4) as a Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan-powered Echo Fox took the final map 16-13.

The final series between OpTic and Renegades featured two close maps, with Cache seeing OpTic (using Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz instead of Damian "daps" Steele in what is presumably a long term change) nearly squander a 13-2 first half but ultimately close out the map 16-13. Despite a 10-5 halftime lead on Dust2, Renegades also fell on their map pick with OpTic claiming another 16-13 win and becoming the final qualifying team.

The full team list for ELEAGUE Season 2 is:

Poland Virtus.pro Sweden fnatic Europe mousesports CIS Natus Vincere
France Envy Denmark Astralis United States Cloud9 Sweden NiP
France G2 Europe FaZe Denmark Dignitas Germany ALTERNATE aTTaX
Brazil Immortals Brazil SK United States Echo Fox North America OpTic

ELEAGUE Season 2 kicks off on October 21 and runs up until December 3 with $1.4 million in prize money on the line.

If BR had more players I would agree, but they only have 2 up-and-coming teams in GeX and Luminosity.

but some others pretty interesting and potential players to show up And paiN
2016-09-16 03:42
they still have trouble dealing with teams that are in the 15-20 range in NA (at least gex and paiN). Brazil has quality for certain, but not much quantity.
2016-09-16 03:48
g3x Played with NA teams? o.O
2016-09-16 03:59
I was wrong, g3x hasn't played any NA teams, however they have faced Crowns and MK. They went 16 - 12 (cache) and 6 - 16 (train) against MK, and 13-16 (cache) against Crowns.
2016-09-16 04:06
Mk = tier 1 NA
2016-09-16 11:31
Yeah, but it was 1 map and it was the first time g3x had played outside of Brazil, so it was going to be hard for them. Similar to how Tyloo beat Luminosity (now SK) and Na'Vi. I doubt anyone would put Tyloo as a top 10 team in the world, never-mind first. Same thing applies to g3x.
2016-09-16 16:45
as you said "first time g3x had played outside of Brazil". That said, I expect a lot more from them once they are more experienced.
2016-09-16 19:21
Only team that's up and coming is paiN, g3x and LG suck.
2016-09-16 05:12
stupid favela, brazil is going no where fast. Brazil has two good teams relax, and the others are even with the rest of the worlds tier shit teams

Sorry about the result Pimp. You played well though and I know you guys will become stronger for ESL and IEM. Must be hard trying to step into the shoes of s1mple. :/
2016-09-16 04:08
lol they won't. Not p1mps fault tho, Liquid just sucks

Did I just get a reply from Pimp LMFAO okayyyyy.......... dude wasssssssup?! lol Anyway, yea you're right, will undoubtedly be entertaining and fun to follow... Just a shame :( Well good luck in the rest of your leagues Pimp!
2016-09-16 05:03
It's not like any of those NA teams will last a second there anyway. Echo Fox and Cloud9 in particular. I think stan will bring something new to the table for OpTic and I think TSM have a nice addition in Relyks. They need a proper AWPer though as sEMPHIs isnt cutting it. #TLWIN #TLGO
2016-09-16 09:36
alternante attax fucking alternate attax for fuck sake just disqualify them and get godsent
2016-09-16 03:44
Alternate attax won fair and square. Everyone complains about the whole "virtus premier" getting into EPL thing, and now Godsent loses to Attax and everyone thinks Godsent should just get a free ride.
2016-09-16 04:10
i know they won fair and square, but you have to agree with me that seeing godsent would me way more entertaining attax will just sit on the bottom of their group, godsent could actually do damage
2016-09-16 04:11
I know it would have been better story-wise for Godsent to be in there, but what is there to say that Attax can't be competitive. Sure I doubt they are going to tear up the league, but they could potentially take a few maps off people in the league, similar to what Penta has done in EPL.
2016-09-16 04:18
not exactly, imagine if keyd stars were just kicked from events bc they were unknown...
2016-09-16 06:32
+99 gotta give small teams a chance especially if they fairly qualified themselves
2016-09-16 10:53
keyd stars never played any online games or big lans when they were in brazil which means that nobody knew what they could achieve. We saw already enough of ALTERNATE aTTaX to know what they can do from online games and lans. Your comparison doesnt work.

Stop saying shit about aTTaX, they beat all the teams on the online qualifier to be there, yeah including the damn swedes. They are the best tier 3 team along with SS, they deserve some credit due to the teams they already beat.
