fnatic demolishes OpTic in NY

fnatic have defeated OpTic at ESL One New York 16-3 on Train, thus going 1-1 in the group stage, while OpTic are now down 0-2 and will be eliminated if they lose another match.

OpTic let Train go through, possibly feeling warmed up despite being handily defeated on the map by SK. That didn't seem like the case immediately, as fnatic went up 7-0 before Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's team figured out how to take the A-site properly, taking two rounds in a row.

Simon "twist" Eliasson was doing all he could to prove himself this game, taking a bunch of important picks on the CT side with the AWP and he crucially saved this gun into the 10th round where the rest of his teammates only had pistols. The Swedes made it work, naturally, running all around the train carts and John "wenton" Eriksson stepped up massively with a quad kill.

twist was not looking for a prolonged battle

fnatic were just one step ahead the Green men's gameplan all the way, and they ended the half 13-2. Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer and Co. were looking to end it quickly with a pistol win on their T-side, but as OpTic had nothing to lose they chose a force buy into the 17th round which went their way.

twist went all out for being the man of the match in the following round, charging forward with a Tec-9 and destabilizing the North American defense with a triple kill and the Swedish side closed out the map 16-3.

Every team has potential to be honest. Optic is considered one of the weakest contenders in this tournament tho. This match result was expected. Not much to count into this in my opinion.

Really uncharacteristically bad tournament so far from mixwell. Hope they can at least turn it around a little...and hey, both NA teams can't go 0-3 :/// Excited to see if this fnatic team can succeed, so far they're looking really inconsistent. Even though twist is off godsent, he can still go godmode.
2016-09-30 23:11
unexpected:(((((((. expected NA team like optic to win this ez tier 5 tourny but upsets can happen i guess

He's terrible. "TOP 1" they said, ROFLMAO
2016-09-30 23:13
funny definition of terrible you have and are you saying he wasn't #1 before his injury?
2016-09-30 23:13
before his injury cold already have better ratings. just deal with it or look for some old hltv stats
2016-09-30 23:18
holy fuck the delusion that's why they never won against fnatic on a series and made cold look like just another player whenever they faced them

You know there was a time before SK/Luminosity were any good... Also HLTV player rating stats aren't exactly representive of how good a player is.
2016-09-30 23:21
ofc rating doesnt metter. cold take two major mvp because he is more beautiful

Mate,I do know that this my comment will be useless to deadbrain person like you but I will still waste my time and write it. Olof's more mature then cold/fer thats for sure. SK is having this their somewhat 2 major era of dominance, but its the fake glory when they were not able to beat fnatic, ever. But I guess yeh,LG/SK is really great team lost 16-0 on DD2 twice(against FNC and RNG[shoowtime]) being shouted for cold's 4k with awp on mirage, yet those kills were pure luck, because if there's single person who thinks that those jump shots were even somewhat close to skill he's an idiot(same thing with simple's 2k) and trust me,SK will fall, and so will their retarded fangays we smart we loyal etc. I didn't hate SK/LG,but considering how their fans act,I had to start hating them.

2016-09-30 23:40
the point here isnt about 2015, its about #33 "wasn't #1 before his injury?"

Unless you randomly saw csgo on twitch and bought game 2 weeks ago because you saw SK winning something you'd understand, olof was better then any of those(cold, fallen etc.) before he injured his arm.

True, but its just..back in time I used to like SK,and by the time their fans got numbered and started to spam the we loyal shit I started to hate them, probably as most of the community.

yup yup
2016-10-01 01:01
we really dont care if u like sk or not, but why did u live in past? olof isnt same olof was in 2015 just accept it dude
2016-10-01 01:07
i agree with you, olof was #1 in 2015. and again im not talking about 2015 dont be a dumbass

Well true, but you cannot deny that in 2016(first 3-4 months) fnatic was still no1 team with noone even close to their skill level(they were eliminated from MLG at 1st of april) so that form from 2015 went to the 2016 aswell.
2016-10-01 01:07
FNATIC was #1 early 2016, but note what we said: "FNATIC". olof isnt the entire fnatic.

Well you do understand that Olof is/was key player for fnatic? After all, once he got injured fnatic fell. btw, best player in the world?Niko for sure.
2016-10-01 01:09
Niko is for sure one of the best players atm but look at #53, see what ur friend said about best player: "it's not only rating, kills, winning tournament are most rating :)"

thats true and I saw that, but when you go with the individual as the player, its Niko, because you cant compare someone who's having consistantly good performance, but is being dragged down by the team, look at the all great teams(nip, fnatic before the shuffle,sk,vp,navi etc.) they have players which got avarge rating 1.1-or had that rating at their prime time. But Niko cant get any throphies when his lineup is:Inconsistant ChrisJ,the unknown Spidi,1/10 maps carrymeister Denis, and Oskar(we're yet to see him on lan)
2016-10-01 01:17
I prefer watch players like scream, shox and niko, they do the most beautiful plays; but cold is the most impactful and consistent player, always do your job even when sk loses.

When sk loses,i'd actually put up someone like fnx/fer.Fallen and Cold are usually shining in SK true, but when SK is actually down(5-0 or more) you can see the difference.Taco is not nessesary consistant carryer, however you wont lose because of him,he's consistant.

If fnatic will build theirself around twist, they wont be able to rise to the top tier team,of course they wont do that because they got Dennis and Olof aswell, but building team around one player cant get you far(mouz example.) but we'll see, fnatics old lineup had avarge 1.1 rating per person and olof being 1.15
