deadweight become Norse

The Norwegian lineup know as deadweight, that includes the ex-LGB player zEVES, created a player-owned organization called Norse.

Norse players follow in the footsteps of the likes of those of Astralis, GODSENT and Heroic in creating an organization of which they themselves are a part of - even though they disclosed that the project would not be possible without the financial backing of their investor.

deadweight's best recent result has been getting to the ELEAGUE European Closed qualifier, where they were eliminated 2-0 by GODSENT. In WESG Norway they ended top four, after losing 2-1 to Epiphany Bolt in the semifinal.

zEVES was a part of the Norwegian LGB lineup

In the article on gamer.no, Morten "zEVES" Vollan also revealed that this change will allow them to focus more on the game as they will be getting a salary and support for events.

As stated by the 25-year-old, the main goal of the team is to be able to compete with the top 20 in the world before the end of the year.

With this in mind, the team will be attending a few regional events and will have a boot camp at Inferno Online before the minor qualifiers start in December.

Norse is now:

Norway Morten "zEVES" Vollan
Norway Henrik "becker" Becker
Norway Jon "ztk" Erik Øygarden
Norway Martin "cENTRYZ" Brandal
Norway Jorgen "cromen" Robertsen

i don't really get it, what's the point of player owned org when you are not even tier 2 team?
2016-10-01 13:40
Benefits of a player-owned org: More money to the players
2016-10-01 13:43
yeah, but you are the one who has to get the sponsors in the first place...
2016-10-01 14:00
Okay?
2016-10-01 14:01
- you have to waste ton of time talking to to potential sponsors, negotiating contracts, making your brand (you have less time to actually play) - you have much less to offer than existing brands with team in multiple games (you are gonna get much less from a sponsor) - you have the worst position when negotiating (0 team history, 0 experience with player owned org, 0 achievements)
2016-10-01 14:12
OKAY?
2016-10-01 14:12
show me how are you gonna get more money :)
2016-10-01 14:13
If only 5 people own an org and they win a certain amount of money, it is split between them only, or split however they want to. There you go, now stop replying.
2016-10-01 14:15
And how are they gonna win so much money when they are not even close to being tier 2? Start using your brain on that high horse bro xD
2016-10-01 14:18
It's called theory, use your brain on your high horse.
2016-10-01 14:23
Yeah, they could theoretically win a lottery, great argument. LOL
2016-10-01 14:26
I forgot hltv had autists such as yourself that try to twist words and attempt to gain intellectual superiority over strangers whilst mentioning irrelevant shit. Unfortunate that you don't have the capability to just communicate with a human and not try to best him in things you can't comprehend
2016-10-01 14:29
You seem to be the autist in this argument..
2016-10-01 14:33
Yeah, great job describing yourself. Let's sum it up: - you have no argument to support your statement - you are condescending the whole "debate", yet... - you failed to post a single counterargument GJ bro, you really showed me.
2016-10-01 14:36
like your random comment about winning a lottery. gj "bro"
2016-10-01 14:49
oh yeah, i never looked for an argument anyway but you're so desperate for intellectual 'superiority' you will take anything. i merely answered a question and you decided to blow it out of proportion.
2016-10-01 14:50
You are the one looking pretty desperate in this debate.

2016-10-01 16:52
You pay someone to organize this in your behalf as a employer employs his employees to do work the employer would have to do themselves otherwise? How is this different from a organization paying it's players for playing a game in their name? In this case, the organization is owned by the players and they concentrate on playing whilst someone they've chosen to act on their behalf is doing exactly so.

2016-10-01 13:42
They have 2 known players, it's enough for most sponsors.

even godsent and astralis don't have any sponsors listed on their jerseys -_-
2016-10-01 18:15
Maybe they don't want to rely on a sponsorship deal that might not be good enough in the long run. But I'm just assuming.

They'll be tier 3 so they only need tier 3 caliber sponsors. The investor will bank the initial costs so after that their expenses shouldn't even be high since I don't see them going into international lans.

2016-10-01 13:40
who cares
2016-10-01 13:42
For people saying they won't get enough support because they are t3 etc: They have an unknown rich investor backing them, so they will be able to pay for all travels and bootcamps etc themselves. Becker quit his job to play. No norwegian orgs have the opportunities that this team will now get. Huge news for norwegian csgo.
2016-10-01 13:45
0.82 rating gets financial backing well played
2016-10-01 13:49
give your knife pls
2016-10-01 22:02
This team got a lot of potential actually. Cromen is probably one of, if not the biggest talent out there atm and the other guys (especially ztk) have shown good potential. I think this team will be kinda like the old norwegian LGB lineup where rain and later jkaem got picked up. Hopefully zeves can fix their CT-sides and improve his fragging and I would expect them to become a tier 2 team by the end of the year. Great initiative for the norwegian CS-scene, it's exactly what was needed.
2016-10-01 13:50
pretty sure they will start off like godsent qualify for some dreamhack do incredible then be shit and lose at major qualifiers to team like ENCE lul Not hating i actually love zEVES
