SK beat VP; to ESL One NY semi-finals
SK have become the second semi-finalists of ESL One New York after defeating Virtus.pro 16-8 on Train at the end of the fourth round.
SK and Virtus.pro were pitted against each other on Train in the last match of the fourth round. The Poles kicked the match off with a pistol round win as CT after an inner retake, but a double-AK forcebuy from their opponents tipped the scales in SK's favour, who went on to grab four in a row.
A smart flank from Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski after a few trades then gave VP an eco round victory, but their economy got reset once the Brazilians won a round just before the timer ran out.
With a couple of comfortable rounds, Filip "NEO" Kubski's side clawed back to 6-6 as they decided to go for a triple-AWP buy and managed to keep two for most of the four rounds won.

Epitacio "TACO" de Melo then won a 1v2 clutch thanks to good game sense and another close 2v2 situation went SK's way before Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo closed out the half at 9-6 after besting Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski in a 1v1 with sneaky positioning.
The second pistol round went the Poles' way after Snax picked up a triple kill in aggression, but they got picked apart in the following anti-forcebuy and SK went on to extend their lead to 12-7 after two clean anti-ecos.
Snax and Paweł "byali" Bieliński then combined for five kills in a disadvantageous situation, but their effort was for naught as SK won three afterplant situations in a row and secured their semi-finals spot at 16-8.
With the fourth round coming to an end, only two matches remain. The standings are currently following:
