Seven more teams invited to ESWC

ESWC has announced that it has handed out invites to seven more teams.

Luminosity, Fnatic Academy, Gambit Gaming, Heroic, Preparation, Epiphany Bolt and Tengri are the new teams who have been invited to compete at ESWC 2016, which will take place from October 27 to 30 as part of the Paris Games Week trade fair.

A total of $75,000 will be up for grabs in this competition, featuring 32 teams from all over the world, who have either been invited or determined by regional and national qualifiers.

Heroic invited to attend ESWC

The most recent national qualifier took place over the weekend in Braga, Portugal, with k1ck oldschool, a mix team led by former FaZe member Ricardo "fox" Pacheco, winning the tournament after beating FTW.Evo 2-0 in the grand final.

With this new round of invites, there are now just eight spots up for grabs in the tournament. The upcoming weeks will see China, France, Poland and the Benelux host its own qualifiers, but the distribution of the final four spots is still unknown.

Below you can find the current list of participants for ESWC 2016:

If they'd put money in larger prize pool instead of paying travel expenses for 32 teams... Then they could actually have like 8 top tier teams and like prizepool of around 200k. But it's alright there has to be more of these big LAN tournaments for lower tier teams so scene can develop and new talent is discovered.

Gambit, Kinguin, Epsilon, Heroic are tier2, and they're obvious favourites to win the entire thing.

Heroic maybe. Tier 2= top 6-20 in the world imo
