EZ FOR TYLOO
2016-10-07 17:28
China Qualifier - Easy for VG.CyberZen East Asia Qualifier - Easy for MVP Project India + Middle East - I don't think Turkey counts as Middle East, but if it does then easy for Space Soldiers. If not then who gives a fuck Oceania Qualifier - Easy for Winterfox Southeast Asia Qualifiers - Easy for... why the fuck do they get two spots? who the fuck is from there? Minor itself, easy for Tyloo with 2nd likely going to CyberZen or Renegades (although I have my money on CyberZen).
2016-10-07 17:59
"SEA: WHO TF IS FROM THERE?" Same country fighting in TWC right now!
2016-10-07 18:02
I know Singapore has some aight players, but I haven't heard anything from other countries around and they get more slots than an area like China or East Asia which has teams like CyberZen as well as MVP and Mongolz respectively. Also TWC is pointless since the best players are Xantares and Valde.

It only gets 1 qualifier slot, I know Tyloo gets an invite, but that doesn't count as a qualifier slot.

Easy for MVP Project LOL! MVP Project Lost to STF (Unknown Mongolian team) and still easy? LOL
2016-10-09 00:07
SEA has nxl, MVP Karnal, dream[s]cape, Mongolz, StF, + others. Don't try to bash on a scene if you have no idea what's in it. It's the second best scene behind China.
2016-10-10 19:42
Mongolz is East Asia, not SEA. The other 3 teams there are pretty meh. Mongolz and MVP Project are better than all 3 of those teams and only 1 of them will be able to get in.

Thanks for the info. Don't know how the qualifs for the major will be because the major is next year but if TyLoo needs to qualify for the qualifier for the Major, they will play and win their Asian Minor.

2016-10-07 17:28
Why do Renegades get invited to the Asian minor when they live in NA? It doesn't make sense at all to me. They should play the NA minor instead.
2016-10-07 17:29
they wont qualify from there.
2016-10-07 17:30
The chances are for sure not as high if they'd play the NA minor. It's annoying the shit out of me. It's like gob b and such having to play the EU minor because they have 3 EU players living in NA?
2016-10-07 17:32
Its funny how Renegades pretty much get gifted a free Major Qualifier spot every year, yet still fail to qualify every time. I agree they should compete in the NA Minor.
2016-10-07 17:30
they arent gifted. they get this because they are in the finals of every minor. please stfu. you also talked shit on SEA teams yet a team you mentioned EHome lost a bo3 to nxl then nxl also gave a decent fight against VG in zowie extremesland. RNG wont compete in an NA minor due to citizenship. you know this. its always talked about every god damn minor. just bitches bitching because their teams arent in the minors. renegades have to make a difficult choice here anyways, do they go to the epl lan or the minor.
2016-10-07 19:16
Australians always talk shit about asian teams. its in their blood to be racist, so they cant help but think asian teams is shitter. Edit: If it was me to pick esl pro finals or minors i would probably pick esl finals but, if they can get minors 1st or 2nd then qualify at major then is ok but more risk for more return.
2016-10-07 19:20
Well i think its just the aussies that dont watch any asian teams other then the main ones from china. + we arent racist xD just... well idk. there are still racist but not many.
2016-10-07 19:26
> Call a region-based team bad > Pulls the racist card Not Australia's fault that no Asian teams outside of China (With the exclusion of TheMongolz) have achieved anything noteworthy in CS:GO

Gifted as in competing against teams far below their calibre, and given a free spot at the Major Qualifiers. You've read all my other comments so you can clearly see me complaining about the high amount of teams in attendance that are undeserving, literally gifting teams like RNG, Tyloo, CyberZen and Mongolz a top 4 finish. From there onwards, thats when its even, but at that point, its win 1 bo3 and go to the Main Qualifier. As for their citizenship, if that were the case then how will teams such as Splyce and NRG go through qualification? The Minors systems flaws have been brought up time and time again, and Renegades are very good evidence of these flaws.
2016-10-07 19:28
citizenship from australia, and probably australian passports.
2016-10-07 19:10
It's the same for NRG. Why do I have the feeling they're going to compete in the NA minor though?
2016-10-07 19:12
i dont think they will. but it would probably be better chances for them if they can lul.
2016-10-07 19:23
South-East Asia being given two slots? They only have a few decent teams to compete. Give a 3rd slot to China or a 3rd to Oceania (RNG and Tyloo pre-qualified). Even East Asia has more competitive teams than South-East.
2016-10-07 17:29
First you guys need to decide if RNG wants to be NA team or Asian ? They cant qualify via NA , so switch back to Asia ? convenient lol. East asia ? Japan ? shite teams. Korea - 1 good team. India and indian subcontinent - shite teams UAE - 1-2 good teams.
2016-10-07 17:32
Refer to #29
2016-10-07 17:31
Also only 2 teams make it to the major qualifiers, and i dont see anyone beating tyloo or renegades,so whats the use of inviting another slot to china or oceania? No chinese team has beaten tyloo on lan ever, not even VG.
2016-10-07 17:36
Was hunting for this. Remembered it happening but couldnt find the event. Thanks
2016-10-07 17:50
ok then,1 time.
2016-10-07 18:23
It isn't about who actually makes it to the minor, its about the competitiveness of the teams in attendance. Alongside Tyloo, VG.Cyberzen is almost guaranteed to qualify, which is great, but why let two seperate teams from SE-Asia attend, when you could have 1, and another team from a more competitive scene? China has plenty of decent teams outside Tyloo and CyberZen (EHOME, Born of Fire, etc) who would rape any SE-Asian team anyday. The Oceanian scene is slowly getting more and more decent teams such as Chiefs (Who will likely qualify without tucks), Immunity and all that. All of these teams will make for a more competitive minor, and hopefully stop Renegades getting free Qualifier attendances.

Actually there is one team in china that improved a lot recently called FIVE sports. They are capable of beating any team in Asia except Tyloo.
2016-10-07 17:45
You forgot mongolz
2016-10-07 17:33
Yeah mongolz is good, but they aint good enough to win asian minor now, they did that once before when they had machinegun, but no passports :P
2016-10-07 17:35
But outside of China's top 2 teams they're not really better than SEA, and Oceania is worse than SEA

Besides Tyloo and vg, team five is good. This team won maps from top 2 recently.
2016-10-07 17:46
The team that straight off the bat is almost guaranteed to qualify through the South-East asian slot is nxl, followed by perhaps Sabertooth (Who are not deserving of the slot, when compared to Chinese teams) Other than that, i can't really think of any SEA teams that will be deserving of that 2nd slot. EDIT: Sorry, i forgot MVP.Karnal, who have still never accomplished anything in comparison to Chinese teams.
2016-10-07 17:51
I think there are quite a few more competitive teams like MVP.karnal, signature, dreamscape, mineski, and MiTH. The obvious problem in SEA is that we're very divided linguistically so our teams pull from smaller player groups, but as a whole I think SEA has the talent at least, so I'd like to see the publicity.
2016-10-07 17:52
I'm all for supporting teams coming into the lime-light and getting that coverage and popularity, but feel it shouldn't straight away be done on the scale of a major qualifier. When it comes to something this important, the teams in attendance should be the absolute best of the best. I understand the need to give each Region a slot, not only because of the fairness of ping differences and whatnot, but to also be even in opportunity, but do not understand how they come to decide on these slot allocations. Chinese teams such as EHOME, Born of Fire and FIVE eSports are all very capable of upsetting a team like Renegades if they bring their A-game. Same sort of goes for Winterfox and Chiefs (I have more faith in China then my own country). In every Asian qualifier to date, theres always been 2 or 3 dominant teams in attendance, and the rest all mediocre teams that are never going to upset a better team. That, in my opinion, goes against the purpose of the Major qualifiers. Do you see where im coming from or am i being completely unreasonable in some aspect?
2016-10-07 17:58
I understand your point, I just think you're shorting the skill level of SEA teams a little too much, and thinking a little too highly for the 2nd tier chinese and oceanic teams. Dreamscape have a very good record for whatever competitions they play in, and there's not much head to head with teams like EHOME/BornOfFire/FIVE with SEA teams, but as an example, these games are recent hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=35958&event.. hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=33064 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=33687 Other SEA teams are also around this level so they can be very competitive
2016-10-07 18:14
Perhaps i am underrating these teams. I think i've just seen far too many Asia Minors/Qualifiers with tier 6 no-name teams in attendance to count. These teams are pretty much the reasoning behind Renegades getting free access to the Main Qualifier year after year, which has become harder and harder for them lately, but not because of any teams other than the Chinese ones, and Mongolz (Who are competing in East-Asia). From what i can see of them, Dreamscape seem to be a fairly inconsistent team, but one that can do decently if all their members show up together. Good luck to them in Qualifying.

Oh btw, do you know if there is any chance for african teams to qualify? Like, play in the Middle East qualifier or something?
2016-10-07 20:20
So far, nothing has been said about any way for African teams to qualify. They're not allowed under the list of participating countries in the Middle East. Best we can do is wait and see if they fall into any other Qualifiers (Which would be extremely unfair IMO)

Yeah, really. I would also love to see at least Bravado fighting for a major spot. Maybe I'm the only one though :D Edit: Wait, why are Saudi-Arabian and Yemen teams also not in the country list? Also, Risky Gaming qualified for the Asian Minor for Cologne this year by attending the SEA qualifier, while being from the United Arab Emirates, so I have hope for the african teams
2016-10-07 20:27
A few qualifiers in the past (Not Minors, just other events) have allowed for Middle-East teams to compete via CIS Qualifiers. We'll see if they're included when the details for the CIS Minor is released.

Maybe there just should be just one african spot at the Asian Minor instead of the 2nd SEA spot
2016-10-07 20:30
As much as im open to equal opportunities to all teams, this just goes back to what i said earlier about an overwhelming amount of lesser teams in the qualifiers. The team to win the African Qualifier would no doubt be Bravado. That isn't even debatable, but are Bravado at that same level as teams such as Winterfox, MVP Project, Mongolz or VG.CyberZen? By creating all these separate regions for more convenient qualifying, they're further and further reducing the skill required to attend this minor by stretching the talented teams out and making for less competition. A more ideal solution for African qualifications would just be to throw them in with the Middle East qualifiers which is still slightly unfair to the South African teams, but a better option than anywhere else to connect them.

Guess you're right, I can see that the level of competition would probably be lower, but do you think that a second SEA team would be so much better than Bravado? Also, I would like to have qualifiers for every part of the world so for example the african scene would get better with more opportunities. Sorry for bad london, if bad.
2016-10-07 20:42
A second SEA team is something i'm completely opposed to. I believe better competition can be found inside China, Oceania or even Eastern Asia. If the SEA teams wish to prove me wrong and suddenly reach a whole new level of gameplay in the next month or so, then ill happily eat my words and admit myself wrong. Qualifiers in every part of the world is a tricky thing. In the particular case of South Africa, it would be almost a waste to hold a separate qualifier there due to the low amount of teams emerging from the region. Even now, there's a very clear dominant team inside SA, with that team being Bravado. When compared to scenes like NA and EU, theres no clear top 1 team. Even during the period when SK was top 1 world, they were still defeated in events by teams such as G2 or old-Fnatic. Every top team was capable of beating each other. In South Africa however, this isnt the case. Perhaps in a year or two, this will be different =) PS: Your london is great

Yep, that's clear. I was referring to the situation as is, I'd just let an african team take part at the minor instead of a second SEA team. nxl, Sabertooth or MVP.Karnal are the three most likely teams to take those SEA slots. Thats 1 slot wasted.

Nxl and mvp karnal are more likely to get slot coz sabertooth just go rekt by nxl

2016-10-07 23:03
Teams from Taiwan,Hongkong,Macau are eligible to participate in EAST Asia qualifier
2016-10-08 01:34
RNG get a free spot once again. every asian qualifier is rigged for these australians. east asia and china should be one qualifier and have 3 spots. so cz and tyloo can both attend and 1 other. cz and tyloo are the strongest teams in asia but there's only 1 chinese spot. there should be another qualifier with SE asian and australasian teams with 2 spots. and one for ME/Indian (if we follow Valve's affirmative action policy) instead of 1 for china, 1 for "east asia", 2 for SE asia, 1 for oceania and 1 for ME/India. the other way has more competitive integrity.
2016-10-07 23:17
you do realise there are 2 spots for china right - tyloo and a china qual spot? and rng and now wfx have arguably accomplished or shown their calibre more often and more consistently, plus playing at the previous quals etc, meaning an invite. you're a spastic if you think an invite means its rigged for them.
