mousesports top Group A over EnVyUs

mousesports topped Group A at the ESL Pro League Season 4 finals with a 16-9 victory over EnVyUs, while Liquid defeated Immortals 16-14 in their final match in São Paulo.

The final round of Group A matches began with an exciting Americas showdown between Immortals and Liquid, even though at first it seemed like it would be an extremely dull affair.

Starting off on the Counter-Terrorist side of Mirage, Immortals looked incredibly strong as they got out to a massive 10-0 lead. Liquid still got a couple of rounds on the board, but a nine-round deficit at the end of the half meant that they had a mountain to climb to turn this game around.

Liquid beat Immortals after an incredible comeback

The second half however, was a completely different story. With a trio of kills in the pistol round, Jacob "Pimp" Winneche put Liquid back in the game. Little by little, the North Americans started closing the gap on their opponents, and eventually they hit 13 rounds.

João "felps" Vasconcellos put Immortals back in the lead with three key frags, but the Brazilians were unable to build on that round win despite having the home support as Liquid won the three more rounds to salvage something from this event after losing their first matches.

The last group match saw mousesports and EnVyUs face off on Cache for the top spot and a guaranteed semi-final berth. The Frenchmen came into the match on the back of three consecutive victories, but they were unable to hold off the European mixture, who picked up a 16-9 win to leapfrog their opponents in the table.

"Mousesports have topped the group, but I can't admit that I underestimated them, so I should probably just trash talk them" #thorinlogic You'd have thought someone with his amount of experience as an analyst would be more professional and less biased.
