Kinguin replace FaZe at DH Winter

Kinguin have secured an invite to DreamHack ZOWIE Open at DreamHack Winter after defeating Epsilon 2-0 in a last-minute qualifier (22-20 on Mirage and Cobblestone.

Following FaZe's withdrawal from DreamHack Winter due to a packed schedule, the organisers of the Swedish event decided to host a best-of-three clash between Kinguin and Epsilon, the losing semi-finalists of the closed qualifier, to determine who would replace Finn "karrigan" Andersen's team in the tournament.

Coming off a disappointing 9th-16th place at ESWC, Kinguin stepped up to the plate and gave a much better account of themselves, ultimately winning the series on two maps that went to overtime.

Kinguin will attend DreamHack Winter, later this month

DreamHack ZOWIE Open at DreamHack Winter will run from November 24-27, in Jönköping, with eight teams battling it out for a share of a $100,000 prize pool. The list of participants for the event now comprises:

"yeh man let us better not attend to that tournament to get free money by playing against t4 teams" are you retarded? lol but i see <3 rain, you delusional kiddo fanboy. faze is shit and will never achieve anything same as last year. There is only one thing what this pile of trash can do for beeing good to the scene and that is disband
2016-11-02 12:01
yeah ofc i know faze will never achieve anything. ITS THE ORG. they buyout famous players and hope they reach major for that sticker money. rain has nothing to do with my fanboyism. faze is just a trap for good/great players (because team chemistry is pure shit) djskullfuck boi. and the "not attending" was just a bait

Lol. I still find it quite offensive when people complains about events to also give chance to lower tier teams. Like WTF? You have so many events with top teams going on this fall/winter and still managing to complain about some event being t3.
2016-11-02 12:06
so if i say grass is green then im complaining that it is not red? lul. im just stating the fact

2016-11-02 04:38
Ah hem Renegades. Last time we saw them do decent on LAN was around IEM GAMESCOM 2K15 and ESL ONE COLOGNE 2K15 time. Ever since then they have sucked on lan (especially against china)
2016-11-02 08:56
Since 2015, Renegades have changed two players, they are a completely different team. Recently they have stepped up considerably in their online play and had they been able to go to ESL Pro League Finals they definitely could have made a decent run. The only Asian team that was able to beat them at the recent Asia minor was Tyloo. I think they are easily on the same level as Godsent, Optic, Gambit, Kinguin, F3 and Dig.

Dignitas and Cloud9 are both tier 1.
2016-11-02 12:10
Because they won 1 tournament? Cool story. dignitas won epicenter and failed to go through the groups ight after that at another tournament. The same fate can wait for Cloud9 also. NiP used to win some tournaments, but still were barely regarded as a tier1 team. Even Immortals won 1 tournament, please call them a tier1 team. Don't jump into conclusions like many did to dignitas after epicenter.
2016-11-02 15:30
Poland Astoner55
Cloud9 also got to the semi finals of starladder, they're not lucky in 1 tournament, they're proving their status
2016-11-02 15:32
What T1 teams did they play against at the starladder? Struggling nV couldn't be regarded as T1 at that moment, and even now they're not T1 yet. Flipsid3? Please. And even F3 took 1 map from C9. VG CyberZen? The only solid (not T1 but at least solid) team at that tournament raped C9 in the semis. To be regarded as T1 you should defeat tier1 teams on regular basis. Now SK and VP are tier1 teams. OK, C9 raped SK once, but nobody knows if it will be ever repeated in the near future. C9 should prove that that win wasn't just a lucky stuff.
2016-11-02 15:41
What's wrong with that? Good tournament for lower teams. Will be fun to watch. And also there are few T1 teams.
2016-11-02 12:22

EPL S4 and Epicenter paid $100k to 2nd place team alone while Dreamhack has a price pool of $100k. ELEAGUE and Majors pay even more and then there is WESG. No tier 1 team cares.
