HellRaisers and GODSENT to deciders
GODSENT beat ALTERNATE aTTax in two maps while HellRaisers managed to best Heroic in three. GODSENT are now playing LDLC, and Heroic will face ENCE for spots in tomorrow's playoffs.
The Group B elimination match between HellRaisers and Heroic got underway in Train with former winning the first pistol round playing on the defensive side. Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow and co. went on to win the first gun round and the following eco, establishing an early 5 – 0 cushion and only giving up six deaths meaning the economic game was strong for the Czech-Slovakian-Ukrainian-Hungarian squad.
Finally three kills by Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså on the inside bombsite allowed Heroic to unfold their play and win their first round of the match. Vladyslav "bondik" Nechyporchuk, with a triple of his own, reset Heroic’s economy forcing them back on an eco. The rest of the half was on its way to being a whitewash, with HellRaisers piling on the rounds all the way to an 11 – 2 lead, but a final effort late in the half gave Heroic the last two.
Martin "STYKO" Styk went HAM on the pistol round with four glock kills to give HellRaisers the T side pistol round, and an even bigger cushion for his team to work with to close out Train, Heroic’s pick. The Danish team were able to get a few rounds in, but HellRaisers finally closed it out 16 – 9.
The second map was the opposite of the first. On Nuke, HellRaisers’ map, it was the Danish side that came started off putting a lot of distance between themselves and their rivals. After ten rounds Heroic were ahead 8 – 2 on the CT side and in complete control of the map. Finally, the half ended with 10 – 5 on the scoreboard.
Heroic came out in the second half with the same impetus they had in the first, taking the pistol round and the anti-ecos to get ahead 13 – 5. HellRaisers weren’t ready to give up just yet, winning three and prompting Heroic to take a pause and figure out how to break the defense. Heroic then started to abuse the inside site, winning two rounds and getting themselves within one of taking the match to a third map, which they did, 16 – 10.
ANGE1 & co. knock Heroic out
The deciding match for the bout between HellRaisers and Heroic was Cobblestone, with the former starting on the terrorist side and once again taking a huge lead before the opposing team could answer. In the two maps prior, the team with the big lead out of the gate ended up winning the map.
Heroic finally got their first round in after trailing 5 – 0 with newcomer Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen putting in work with three kills. After Heroic got four in a row, HellRaisers called a timeout to try and stop the bleeding. With the score sitting at 5 – 5, HellRaisers were able to abuse the A site getting themselves back in the lead, 6 – 5 and run away with it, winning the last 4 rounds for a 10 – 5 lead before the switch.
Heroic won the pistol round, and on the terrorist side and only trailing by two the hopes of the Danish team were back. A clumsy execute forced a 2 vs. 4 situation on A, though, getting HellRaisers back in the game. After two in a row lost it was now the Danes asking for a pause. The Danes, however, were unable to break HellRaisers, who neutralized Heroic despite a very solid performance by niko, ending the third map at 16 – 10.

ALTERNATE aTTaX decided to play contanct on A in the first round. After getting the first pick on mid and moving into the site, ALTERNATE aTTaX bagged the first round in a 2 vs. 1. GODSENT played their first gun round against ALTERNATE aTTaX’s smg/rifle buy and were barely able to win a 3 vs. 1 afterplant against Oliver "kzy" Heck to put their first one on the board. GODSENT then started to get big, winning three in a row.
Florian "syrsoN" Rische came in huge with the game tied 3 – 3, with three AK kills to close the round and give his team the lead on the scoreboard as well as hurting GODSENT’s economy. ALTERNATE aTTaX quickly took hold of the half, getting in eight rounds. A late effort by GODSENT got them up to seven on the CT side, leaving the second half open to both teams.
JW and Flusha’s GODSENT survive at the Minor
Winning the pistol round was crucial, as it got GODSENT ahead 10 – 8 and into the—for the most part—preferred half of Cobblestone, the terrorist side. A 1 vs. 3 cutch by Robin "flusha" Rönnquist broke ALTERNATE aTTaX as the Swedish side started to find their groove and went on to close the map out 16 – 10.
Train started out well for ALTERNATE aTTaX, as a CT side pistol win gave the German team the early advantage. After having planted, though, GODSENT played the third round fully armed and punished ALTERNATE aTTaX’s aggressive play to put the first on the board and force the German team on an eco. Both teams then stayed neck-and-neck on the first half in Train, ending it 8 – 7 with a slight advantage to the Swedes.
ALTERNATE aTTaX won the pistol round and got the game back even, while GODSENT tied it back two rounds later at 9 – 9 to keep it a tie. The two teams kept trading rounds, but finally GODSENT were able to get a steady lead and put 15 – 11 on the board, displaying clear superiority not allowing ALTERNATE aTTaX to develop their game. Finally GODSENT closed it out 16 – 11 to keep their options in the tournament alive.
