ROG MASTERS Asia reaches semis
The ROG MASTERS Asia 2016 LAN in Malaysia has reached the semi-final stage, with Risky, dream[S]cape, TheMongolz and Leapfrog still remaining in the competition.
With the first two days of the ROG MASTERS Asia 2016 played, we are left with four out of the 12 Asian and Oceanic teams that attended the tournament. The competition started with the group stage that saw the teams split into four three-team groups.
The group stage was played using a best-of-three round-robin format, with two teams from each group moving to the playoffs where the best-of-three action continued.
The Vietnamese team Sabertooth was showing some promise recently, but they were unable to get past dream[S]cape and AVANT in group C. In the final group, Risky took the first place with 5POWER following in second.
ncl's TheMongolz weren't really tested at ROG MASTERS yet
In the quarter finals, we saw four 2-0 results. Risky started by taking down Chiefs 16-11 on Cobblestone and 16-14 on Mirage while the second Australian team AVANT got eliminated by TheMongolz in the following match—16-1 on Cache and 16-7 on Overpass.
Leapfrog, using Kumaresan "Tommy" Ramani and Prasad "StrykerX" Paramajothi, took down BOT on Dust2 and Cache before dream[S]cape managed to close out the closest quarter-final match of the tournament, winning 16-12 and 19-17 over 5POWER.
With these results, we will have the following semi-final matchups:
