Echo Fox eliminate FlipSid3 with a 2-0

Echo Fox eliminated FlipSid3 with a comfortable 2-0 (16-11 Nuke, 16-6 Train) to stay alive at iBUYPOWER Masters 2016.

The Group A elimination match started off on Echo Fox's home map, Nuke, with the North American team taking the first three rounds on the T side.

Georgi "WorldEdit" Yaskin opened up the first gun round with an AWP kill on Sean "seang@res" Gares which started FlipSid3's seven-round win streak. In the series of successful round, it was with the team's AWPer and Jan "wayLander" Rahkonen doing most of the work for the CIS team.

The streak was broken by two rounds in which WorldEdit remained alive but wasn't able to defuse the bomb in time, before he finally managed to clutch out a 1v1 against Ronnie "ryx" Bylicki to make it 8-5.

Echo Fox got to seven Terrorist rounds before the end of the half and won the CT pistol round to set themselves up for success on Nuke, winning it 16-11 in the end.

seang@res lead his team to an easy victory against FlipSid3

Going on to Train, FlipSid3 didn't impress on the Terrorist side of their map pick, with only WorldEdit showing up with some good sniping once again. The Ukranian team were down 11-4 before the half time, and lost another pistol round to make it four out of four for Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and co.

Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy had two three-kill rounds to get his team to six rounds before the North American team closed it out 16-6 to take the series 2-0 and remain in the tournament. Their next match will be against the loser of Cloud9 and TYLOO.

2016-11-13 01:04
hard to win with a 0.6 rating UK standin. probably also toxic. electronic is their best rifler, they always play well on majors, especially in decider/elim matches
2016-11-13 01:14
that moment when sgares has 20 more kills than freak and same adr LOL
2016-11-13 01:14
ahhahahaha for real? now you see that "legends" system is broken Gambit, FlipSid3 shouldn't have guaranteed spot in the next major

Only Top 2 (or if Valve and the Majors organizers want to make sure to have big names to make big $$, make it to top 4) of the previous Major should have their seat for the next one. Especially when it's 6 months after.

Yeah agree that top 2 would be a bit restrictive. Totally agree with you on the 5th-8th going to the qualifier (they need some additional reward in comparison to 9th-16th).

LOL :D I still think top 4 is fine. Either top 4 or top 2. Just getting out of groups (which can be done in 2 BO1s) isn't enough to be a "legend", especially when groups aren't balanced at all.

And to be honest (at least that's my opinion) half the teams (top 8 of the previous Major) going to the next one (next Major) doesn't allow enough new teams to try to get a seat at the next one. (especially when like at least 5 out of the 9th-16th of the previous major will qualify to the next one anyway.) It's basically always the same teams with some upsets once in a while eBettle/Vexed, Immunity, Splyce. We did not even get TyLoo for example.

Lmfao this match. Seangares had positive rating. Freakazoid has negative rating. Echofox actually beat someone. Flip side 3D decided to use a noname UK player instead of electronic.

No electronic couldn't attend. They didn't just randomly drop him and get smooya for this tourney.
