IMT & Astralis pick up wins in round 3

The third round of group A at IEM Oakland have resulted in Immortals smashing G2 16-4 on Cobblestone and Astralis decimating Liquid on Train 16-1.

The battle between G2 and Immortals was set on Cobblestone and it was the Brazilian side that picked up the pistol round on CT-side and though they lost the first gun round, Henrique "HEN1" Teles and company could buy straight back and reset, thanks to succesful anti-ecoing with their SMG's.

Even when back on rifles the Frenchmen were often looking in need of a tour guide as they could barely move in to bombsites. The Samurai were being locked out of the castle and Immortals had thrown away the key.

The G2 that won versus Astralis was absent on Cobble

Switching up the approach to the A-site did help Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro's team eke out three more rounds to make it 4-11, but as Cobble is very much a T-sided map, things were looking very bleak for the Black-Red.

The blowout was looming fast after Immortals steamrolled the A-site on the pistol round, and entried fast as well in the first gunround to shut out all but any chance for G2 to mount a comeback. 16-4 it ended in favor of the iBP Masters champions.

Meanwhile on Train Astralis were looking to pick up their first win over Liquid and we were witness to another Fort Knox defense being put up by the CT side, courtesy of the Danish side as Nick "nitr0" Cannella and company had clearly not bought a ticket for boarding.

14-1 half lead for the Danes and as they clinched the pistol round on T-side the American side had reached the end of the line. 16-1 for Astralis.

one second immortals looks like the best team in the world. and then they look like they don't know what they are doing. their prime performance looks way better than sk at their best. so hopefully felps will stay in the team and hen1 starts to find some consistency in his play just like his flashiness. liquid is no different from them. one second they are destryoing na'vi. playing with confidecene, running and gunning straight into the enemies heads. then they start whiffing against out of position players. i think their biggest issue is mental at this point. how can you lose that many rounds in a row? unbelieveable. de_stroyed T_T ..and more DaZeD pls.

where's the people who said that Immortals would get stomped because of the new ESEA anti cheat device, quite the other way around, top teams like G2 and Na'vi getting stomped, wonder if the new anti cheat has something to do with it.

nah that's karma, people talked so much shit about Immortals when ESL announced that they would be using the new ESEA anticheat device at IBP masters and at IEM, then Immortals end up winning IBP masters and now they're doing good at IEM too, while top teams are underperforming.

It's all mental for Liquid. When s1mple was in the team, the players were playing amazingly. He gave them confidence. When he left, I guess he left some confidence in EliGE, who destroyed Na'Vi @ NY. After that loss, Liquid started winning until they lost Train barely, and got rolled on Dust2. I hope zews can fix their tilt issue. When things don't go right, they go to shit and you can't be a top 5 team tilting when things don't go right.
