FaZe, Heroic pick up wins at IEM

FaZe have picked up their third victory in a row at IEM Oakland after easing past Ninjas in Pyjamas 16-5 on Overpass.

The match began with FaZe getting out to a quick 3-0 lead after winning the pistol round with three key kills from Finn "karrigan" Andersen. After buying up, NiP won the first full gun round with ease as FaZe barely invested any money, with the Swedes following it up with another round courtesy of a 1v3 clutch by Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg. However, they were unable to equalize the score as they were caught off-guard by a quasi buy from FaZe, who regained control of the game.

For several rounds in a row, NiP were simply not able to put any pressure on the bombsites, with the scoreline blooming to an 8-2 advantage for FaZe. Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi then brought FaZe's winning streak to an end with a 1v2 clutch, but the European mixture were unwilling to let the map slide and closed out the half with an impressive 11-4 lead.

FaZe go 3-0 in Oakland

FaZe piled more pressure on their opponents by winning the pistol round as Terrorist, with Philip "aizy" Aistrup getting four kills to his name. After also winning both anti-ecos, FaZe lost the first gun round, but they battled back right after to reach match point before eventually sealing the deal.

The other group match saw a mousesports side desperate for a victory after losing their first two games take on Heroic on Cobblestone. After a slow start to the game, mousesports went on a massive run and jumped out to a 10-5 lead.

Heroic bounce back from defeat vs. FaZe

The second half ended up being a one-sided affair, however, as Heroic limited their opponents to just one round to take the game, 16-11, and secure their second victory of the tournament.

FaZe is looking pretty good, all the players are performing fairly evenly. Good for allu.
