Gambit to Group B winners' match

Gambit advanced to Group B's winners' match following a 16-10 win on Cobblestone versus OpTic.

After the pistol round went Gambit's way, OpTic replied in the following round for a 2-1 lead. Rustem "mou" Telepov then picked up a triple with a saved scout in an eco round, which rocketstarted them into the remainder of the half.

Gambit continued to force Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas and company on ecos as they went on to pick up seven rounds in a row before OpTic could stop the streak.

Gambit put up a great defence on Cobblestone

The North American squad couldn't string more rounds together however, switching over to Counter-Terrorists at a measly four rounds shortly after mou picked up four kills with the AWP at the very end of the half.

The first two rounds of the second half were traded and OpTic got two more afterwards, but dropped a favorable anti-eco as Gambit got back on the the horse to reach match point at 15-7. It took them a few attempts to reach the 16th, but they did so at 16-10 once Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko clutched a tough 1v2.

Really good job Team Gambit! To be honest, I expected an easy win for OpTic, but that is a good surprise!

Nice match from gambit. Optic is just lacking in tactics, they have just firepower, and that's just, wrong :/ They can win some teams, but against gambit that has AdreN, a nice tactician, I don't think that they can trust just on their firepower. ZEUS WAS THE PROBLEM 4Head

i always wonder how people on the other side of the planet get inside info about my team (like Adren calling in hot situations since hellraisers times) that i get directly from being their actual friend :D

Other then the loss to igame or something like that Gambit has had solid results recently. They maybe wont make top tier but i dont think there are that many teams out there that Gambit couldnt upset in a BO1 format with the shape they are now. Gl to them in this tournament!
2016-11-24 20:00
i agree but firstly, Gambit achieved a legendary status in columbus so they technically are a tier1 team. secondly, gambit in their current form can upset any top team with a bit of confidence and luck ;)

The same argument could be said about f3 but those guys are in terrible shape atm. However i do hope Gambit can keep the legendary status after the major. AdreN is just a beast when he turns up, which is quite often. Everyone knows that tactically Zeus is really good and the rest of the team looks solid recently as well. They havent played much against stronger opposition though. This tournament is a good place to prove how good they actually are :)
