Astralis to EL semis over NiP

Astralis have advanced to ELEAGUE Season 2 semi-finals after defeating NiP 2-1 (Cobblestone 13-16, Train 16-2, Overpass 16-10).

NiP and Astralis went back and forth in the first four rounds of Cobblestone with each side winning a forcebuy on the back of great individual play from Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye

The Danes managed to stabilize the situation, getting up to a 5-2 lead before Richard "Xizt" Landström's quad in another forcebuy gave NiP two in a row. Before the half ended, each side won three rounds to make it 8-7 in favor of Astralis on the CT side.

A pistol round win sent Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's team to 11-7, but a great combination from f0rest and Adam "friberg" Friberg on A long - and the latter's solo triple on the same bombsite - set off a five-round streak for NiP. As most of those rounds were close, Astralis only needed one round to break their opponents' economy, but yet another huge play from friberg, this time with a stolen gun in an eco, gave NiP a 14-12 lead.

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen gave Astralis a lifeline when he got a triple in a disadvantageous situation on the B bombsite, although friberg saved the day again in the following eco to help his team close out Cobblestone at 16-13.

friberg had immense impact on Cobblestone

Nicolai "device" Reedtz started off Train with a triple in a 2v3 in the pistol round, which took his team to a 3-0 lead as Counter-Terrorists. A B attack in the first gunround went NiP's way comfortably, but Astralis retook two similar ones in the following two rounds to go up 6-1.

NiP could barely get a footing in their next strategies, while Astralis continued to dominate the map until it was 10-1. f0rest then got a big double in a quasi-buy, but once yet another retake on the B bombsite went the other way, the Danes looked fantastic going over to Terrorists with 13-2.

device showed up with another great play in the second pistol round, winning a 1v3 from the electric box in an afterplant situation, which secured a 16-2 win for Astralis on the second map.

Astralis decimated NiP on Train

dupreeh and company got off to another flying start, as they went up 5-0 as CT on the decider, Overpass. friberg's two entries gave NiP their first round, but Astralis broke their economy right afterwards and extended their lead to 9-1 after gla1ve clutched a 1v2.

A single round in which Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and f0rest combined for a 2v4 afterplant win gave them a breather in the form of an anti-eco, which allowed NiP to lower the deficit to 6-9 at halftime with five rounds in a row.

Doubles from the aforementioned duo in the following pistol round equalized the score at 9-9, but Astralis were the ones to take control of the first few gunrounds to regain the lead.

A dangerous round on the B bombsite went to the hands of the Danish squad, and two entries from dupreeh forced NiP on an eco. Solo doubles from GeT_RiGhT and friberg towards the B bombsite were all for naught, as from there on Astralis picked up six rounds in a row, two of which were saved by Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth to finish the series off at 16-10.

Astralis is a better team than dignitas rn
2016-12-01 02:36
+1 and both teams are really strong, danish scene is strong lately, but yet i wish i could see device and magiskboy in the same team!
2016-12-01 02:40
device, magisk, aizy, aizy, gla1ve would be such a perfect mix of passivity, aggression and roles. Would probably be top 3
2016-12-01 02:41
That lineup will never happen! or.... it is very unlikely. I mean, they could all play together and stuff, it's just hard to see aizy being cloned in the nearest future.

It could've been so much smoother. Wp in the end, but they srsly need to calm the fuck down midgame. Nip's luck not enough this time. They should srsly start banning train, no way mirage is worse than that.

It seemed like a totally relaxed NiP in the bad way .. It was like they won one title and didn't practice/looked any strats =/ .. They need new stuff and be more focus on their game after tournaments ..
