EL Major Main Qualifier viewer's guide

With the ELEAGUE Major Main Qualifier set to start tomorrow, we bring you a detailed viewer's guide to lead you through the action that will take place in Atlanta this week.

The ELEAGUE Major Main Qualifier will take place at the ELEAGUE Studios from December 15-18, using the Swiss System to decide which eight teams will make it through to the ELEAGUE Major in January.

More CS:GO action at the ELEAGUE Studio

Sixteen attending teams have been split up into four seeding pools, depending on their placings at the Cologne Major or at their regional Minors. Teams from the same pool will not be drawn to play each other, except the matchup is unavoidable.

The seeding pools are as follows:

Seeding pool 1  Seeding pool 2  Seeding pool 3  Seeding pool 4
Denmark Dignitas United States CLG Russia Vega Squadron  Russia Spirit
Sweden NiP North America OpTic China TYLOO Australia Renegades
Europe mousesports  France Envy  Sweden GODSENT Europe HellRaisers
Europe FaZe France G2 Brazil Immortals United States Cloud9

For a detailed explanation of the system and a deeper look at the attending teams, check out Milan "Striker" Švejda's ELEAGUE Main Qualifier Preview.

The first day of competition will feature the following matchups:

16:00 Denmark Dignitas  vs. Russia Spirit BO1
17:15 France Envy vs. Brazil Immortals BO1
18:30 Europe FaZe vs. United States Cloud9 BO1
19:45 United States CLG vs. Russia Vega Squadron BO1
21:00 Sweden NiP vs. Australia Renegades BO1
22:15 North America OpTic vs. China TYLOO BO1
23:30 Europe mousesports  vs. Europe HellRaisers BO1
00:45 France G2 vs. Sweden GODSENT
BO1

The schedules and exact matchups for the following days will be revealed as the tournament moves on.

All matches will be played as best-of-ones, featuring the veto system we've seen at previous ELEAGUE events. The system has one team banning three maps, the other team banning two and the map to be played getting decided by a random generator.

To bring us coverage of the tournament, ELEAGUE has brought together a strong talent lineup featuring the ELEAGUE Season 2 analyst trio of Richard Lewis, Duncan "Thorin" Shields and Jason "moses" O'Toole, the three most popular CS:GO casting pairs and Sue "Smix" Lee to fill in the host role.

The following talent will be present at the ELEAGUE Major Main Qualifier:

United States Sue "Smix" Lee – Host

United Kingdom Richard Lewis – Analyst
United Kingdom Duncan "Thorin" Shields - Analyst
United States Jason "moses" O'Toole – Analyst

Denmark Anders Blume – Commentator
United States Auguste "Semmler" Masonnat – Commentator
United Kingdom Daniel "ddk" Kapadia – Commentator
United Kingdom James Bardolph – Commentator
United Kingdom Henry "HenryG" Greer – Commentator
Canada Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett – Commentator

The winner is only 1 guys, im faster than Keiran Lee Now i will give you free tips: Dignitas will win but not ez, Spirit can get 6+ rounds Imm to win but Envy will take at least 1 pistol round Faze vs C9 - 50/50, just going for the underdog, Faze to win first pistol round CLG vs Vega - skip or bet on CLG -3,5 just for fun to watch subroza getting banned on lan NIP vs RNG - RNG to win 6 or more rounds ez Optic vs Tyloo - Tyloo 6 or more rounds ez, they can even win this mouz vs hr - mouz after bootcamp, but shit odds, i belive in HR G2 vs Godsent - in BO3 G2, but bo1... Underdog all the way, swedish bois are going to the major anyway

Why c9 is seed4?
2016-12-14 23:55
they qualified via America's minor. Last major bottom 8 get seed groups 1 and 2. Seed groups 3 and 4 are from minors.
2016-12-15 01:51
It just means they came from NA

dude pool 1 and 2 are the teams that were in the last major so of course they're going to get a better seeding
2016-12-15 03:35
still stupid all this "advantage" bs should stop...everyone should get a fair chance and not bs like that...they just want the same fucking teams because of the fan bases
2016-12-15 03:36
Well.. If the teams in pool 3 and 4 can't win over 1 and 2, maybe they shouldn't be in the major?

rofl doesn't even make sense.. if the seeding was fair you could easily say that the many teams in seeding 1 and 2 wouldn't make it. use your fucking brain pls
2016-12-15 14:26
yeah. would be so cool, if a tier3 team could make it to the major, get rekt 16-0 in 2 BO1s there, and come home, just bcuz they played with t3 teams in the qualifier.
2016-12-15 16:29

2016-12-15 09:58
Teams from the same pool will not be drawn to play each other, except the matchup is unavoidable. ok
