dignitas win Main Qualifier opener

In the first match of the ELEAGUE Major Main Qualifier, which is utilizing the Swiss format, dignitas won Mirage 16-11 against Spirit.

Spirit started on the CT side on Mirage and picked up the pistol round for a 2-0 lead. Two bomb plants allowed Dignitas to buy up early and get three rounds in a row with a couple of B executes, before Spirit surprised with an eco round win in a stack on the B bombsite, as Vadim "DavCost" Vasilyev won a 1v2.

After another close situation on the A bombsite, the Danes went back to winning ways with three more rounds for 6-3. The Russian side the evened things out at 6-6 on the back of two opening kills from Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko and DavCost's quad-kill in two gunrounds.

Spirit caused dignitas quite a lot of trouble

When it looked like Spirit would take the lead and get a solid defense, René "cajunb" Borg clutched a 1v3 on the A bombsite, which sent the Danes on a 9-6 half as Terrorists.

cajunb got another triple in the second pistol round and Dignitas began extending their lead further and further until they reached match point at 15-6. Null element, who had already shown a few great plays on the CT side, got a few impactful kills over the next two rounds as Spirit went on a solid streak of their own, but Dignitas ultimately closed it out at 16-11.
