CLG come back against Renegades

CLG kicked off the second round of ELEAGUE Major Main Qualifier with a huge comeback against Renegades to win 19-16.

Dust2 between Renegades and CLG saw the former grabbing a 5-1 lead early with the pistol round going their way as well as an eco in the fourth round, in which Karlo "USTILO" Pivac put a saved weapon to good use with aggression towards upper dark.

Ethan "Ethan" Arnold's ace then gave CLG an eco round victory of their own, but they couldn't string more rounds together, as the Australians continued to defend both sites without much trouble.

With another eco victory on the back of Ethan's double, the North American side got things rolling and finished the half with five rounds to their name.

CLG completed a huge comeback against Renegades with a 13-round streak

CLG also nearly turned a 3v5 situation around in the pistol while in a retake on the A bombsite, but Justin "jks" Savage shut them down, clutching a 1v3 in four bullets in a few seconds. With that, Renegades quickly reached match point.

USTILO and company got a bit overconfident and attempted to finish off the match with individual plays, which CLG fended off and began clawing back with a double-AWP setup.

Winning all of the opening duels and the advantageous retake situations, Stephen "reltuC" Cutler's team defended round after round and sent the match to overtime with ten rounds in a row. CLG continued with the momentum and won all three rounds on the defense, including an unlikely retake on the B bombsite, and the second round in the other half for a 19-16 victory.

i just want to remind everyone that renegades chose to skip the esl pro league finals to get into the qualifier of this qualifier. fuckin failfish. also renegades with all their firepower, doing weird shit. they are playing weird defaults. got random mediocre strats. their t side was like watching a rank s match. so why not cut yam? they got a better awper. his rifle is meh. not a good igl. all he got going for himself is the occasional phoonin awp kills. at least get a better fragger like zewsy.

Rickeh is a sick awp'er. I agree on kicking yam.. this guy is useless.
2016-12-16 17:22
I assume them going to the pro league finals finishing last anyway, so: (if go)Pro League 5-6th: $35,000 (now) 7-8th: $30,000 Minor 2nd place: $15,000 since 30,000 + 15,000 > 30,000 + a chance to qualify so their decision was correct

Rick misses so many easy shots. The double awp setup is what seriously shut down rng v clg. The awpers consistently got opening picks and Rick could not counter them. He's talked up so much but Yam was a better awper than Rick and he still shows his proficiency when he picks one up. He holds better angles much faster, yes a little rusty but still better. Rick has his moments but rarely counters opposing awps and it shuts them down.
