Luminosity & Rush qualify for EPL S5

The last two teams for the North American division of ESL Pro League Season 5 have been decided as Luminosity and Rush won the relegation matches.

When the North American version of ESL Pro League Season 5 starts on February 7th, it will be with 14 teams battling it out for the much-coveted spots at the LAN finals.

12 of the 14 teams were already decided but the two relegation matches were going to send two more teams into the EPL and two teams into ESEA Premier Season 24.

In the first relegation match Luminosity were going to try to steal away Selfless' spot in EPL. The Brazilians achieved success in this particular goal as they won the series without any problems. Especially Gustavo "yel" Knittel showed up in the game as he ended with a rating of 1.69.

LILMAN had a great game versus Splyce.

The decider for the match was Overpass, where especially Derrick "LILMAN" Boyne had a great day. Rush managed to take the lead in the match and they didn't let that go, winning 16-10 to clinch the spot in ESL Pro League Season 5.

Echo Fox hold a spot despite not even having a team. Since when were ESL & ESEA more focused on the organisations than the actual teams participating? Sadly this all started when ELEAGUE booted SK and Luminosity due to swapping orgs.

Pretty sad for Splyce. I dont think that lineup is just meant to be. Weird that Acilion and Cruc1al have been there for such a long time for that...
2017-01-19 12:07
Congrats
2017-01-19 12:26
yel is definitely a good player. he has been doing great for a long time. has potential to achieve a better stage in his carreer. shz and destiny are also outstanding players. despite being improving over the last months, they haven't racked their peak out yet. as both are young, they still have a large room to boost their games. we should keep watching them. lastly, showtime and pkl are just run-of-the-mill. unfortunately, i can't see any1 of them reaching something more than LG.

Ez Brasil #RunSk #RunIMT #RunLG 25% of NA Qualifiers are Brazilian. We are smart, we are loyal, we are Friendly, we are from Brasil <3
2017-01-19 13:34
Kinda wish ESL would have more teams in NA battle for relegation. The level of CS for EU relegation matches was far superior to the level of CS for NA matches. Maybe Trumponian competition will help. Although, whoever called that Overpass for Splyce really did their team a disservice... Default into a 4-1, then have a single flash destroy an entire execute. Never really adapting to what Rush was doing.

Splyce is really bad the recent player change did nothing. They are playing this way for quit some time now. If i was Splyce i would search a new team these guys are simply collecting money.
2017-01-19 15:33
Splyce create a lot of unique strats, and it's always been that way. It's just every iteration of this roster since they originally made it to invite have been known to lose some qualification matches to teams in ESEA-Main or worse. Speaking for the Americans... Drone is a good up-and-comer, Ryx goes missing in big matches and tends to chase frags, and I don't think Arya in-game has been anything special for a long-ass time now.
