Virtus.pro beat G2; go 2-0

Virtus.pro are now 2-0 at the ELEAGUE Major after defeating G2 16-14 on Nuke.

The match began with G2 getting out to a quick 2-0 lead after winning the pistol round as CT. Virtus.pro replied in the third round, with Filip "NEO" Kubski and Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas getting the kills, but then they were caught off-guard by the Frenchmen's hard eco.

NEO went huge in the following round and single-handedly won a 1v3 clutch with nothing to work with except a p250. That would be the start of a great run from the Polish team, who won five of the next seven rounds to bring the scoreline to 7-5 before G2 secured the final three rounds, taking a narrow 8-7 lead into the break.

TaZ dropped 30 frags

The second half began with Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro getting a quad kill in the pistol round to put G2 further ahead. The French team took five of the first seven rounds and immediately put Virtus.pro in danger of getting blown out. But then Virtus.pro tightened up their defense, giving up just one more round before sealing a 16-14 victory.

ul for g2 was a really tight game. could have gone either way if not for hero plays from the vp boys. so many close games this tournament. shows how tight the top of cs is right now. really unfortunate for optic atm

The start of the game was electric. I feel like g2 had the game in their hands, but someone need to step up with bodyy snax plays the vents like no other and taz pulled his 3/10 super star game. Wish we could see him perform like this more often
2017-01-24 02:45
Very close game, very entertaining!

Pretty good score judging by Pasha trying to throw, without headset and dreaming about weightlifting

Ppl expecting too much from G2 and especially from duo. Ppl is like, shox must clutch everytime, shox must awp, shox must pistol, shox must rifle, shox must call strats, scream must 1tap every1, scream mustnt die, rpk must destroy battlefield as a tank, body must be consistent etc. Already they are 1-1, lost the match against major veterans 16-14, and nothing is wrong here. Tomorrow they just must stomp the overrated danes.

Didnt OpTic go in the finals of two tournaments straight? Didnt North (dignitas) also win WESG?

Dignitas won wesg qualifiers. There were no good teams apart from vp. Only event dignitas won was epicenter and they have been average ever since
