OpTic Gaming live to fight another day at the ELEAGUE Major after beating FlipSid3 Tactics 16-13 in an elimination match.

The final match of the day saw FlipSid3 Tactics and OpTic square off for survival at the Major, with the CIS team taking the lead after winning the pistol round as CT. They were, however, unable to follow it up as OpTic hit back on a hard eco, with Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas getting three kills on the retake.

After getting their economy stabilised, FlipSid3 won four rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to a 5-2 advantage for them. What followed was a highly-contested period as rounds went back and forth, with FlipSid3 eventually putting their foot down and taking a 10-5 halftime lead.

OpTic pick up their first win in Atlanta

The second half began with FlipSid3 winning the pistol round, which piled even more pressure on OpTic. The European side looked to be in control of the game, but what followed was an amazing run the North Americans, who won nine rounds in a row to turn the game on its head.

Denis "electronic" Sharipov still offered some hope to FlipSide's fans with a trio of kills, helping to bring the deficit to a minimum, but OpTic hit back to reach match point before eventually locking down the map.

Let's go Optic! Flip side should've won this match but all the tilt, bad positioning, and them not winning the duels allowed Optic to win the game. GG regardless it was a good match to watch!

FlipSid3 should let Markeloff take over the IGL role, drop Blad3 to the coach status and add some firepower to the team with some young Russian prospect.

+1. Their playstyle is awesome, but in the end they always lack aimers to make it work. If they were able to match optic's aim, they would've destroyed them (same as in the other 2 matches they lost), because strategically they were superior.

That's why you should add some youngster like electronic and build him, you need that firepower. Waylander is fine in that sense, he just needs skilled players that don't dissapear from the server that fast as soon as they peek or they directly fear to take the chance and shy from peeking when needed. + some new fresh leadership with Markeloff, like for real, yelling cyka at eachother on the tactical timeout doesn't help, was really sad to see. At one point they were all lost when blade started talking.

You really gotta feel bad for Flipside, they got such the big potential yet they got tilted so much..seeing blade tilted himself is a rare thing, then electronic arguing with him..I guess that happens when you're not in team with blade for long enough because other players really can only listen blade and take all what he said to them, waylander smashing the desk also and markeloff cooling him down...eh feelsbad.

until Blade IGL of Flipside they never rise even to tier 2.He's strats most stupid in the world and he's stubborn dictator which doesn't anyone make changes etc. Worst IGL in the world with such an experience. 10 seconds before the end to undermine the opponent has nerves, ridiculously disgusting, it makes nerves only for Waylander. Feels rly bad for Markeloff and Electronic. That retard never will take the pause untill they lose, he thinks he's the only1 who is right.I want to barf when I watch their games. Disgusting, Blade please stop destroy the talents

Today must've been so hard on them. Markeloff having to cool down waylander smasking his desk, and electronic yelling at Blad3 during the break... I really hope everything works out between them. I was really rooting for them, hope to see them come back stronger next major

As usual, the 2 most worthless teams at the major have been eliminated. Thank God.
