North send G2 packing

North eliminated G2 at the ELEAGUE Major after defeating them 16-9 on Overpass.

The fourth day at the ELEAGUE Major kicked off with an elimination match between G2 and North. The map was Overpass and the Danish team started on the T-side.

Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke secured the pistol round with two entry kills and North had a 3-0 lead after the anti-eco rounds. The first weapon round saw Emil "Magisk" Reif pick up two opening kills on the A-site, which secured it for North (4-0).

North are a win away from the playoffs

G2 got their first round after Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux killed two opponents with an AWP and North ran out of time. The Danes reset their opponent's economy as René "cajunb" Borg won a 1vs1 clutch in the following round.

Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel and cajunb saved their team by winning a 2vs5 against the eco of G2. Richard "shox" Papillon's triple kill made the score 2-8. cajunb won an incredible AWP 1vs2 clutch to extend his team's lead to 9-3 and the Danes won the half 11-4.

G2 rushed B in the second half pistol round and trailed 7-11 after winning the anti-ecos. G2 decided to keep three MAC-10s in the first weapon round and lost it because of k0nfig's quad kill. North went on to win the match 16-9, improving their record to 2-2 and eliminating G2.

North played a lot better then in the previous games. Scream came to this tournament to get the sticker money, he didn't give a fuck about the game. His POV showed a guy that had his head somewhere else. Smithz is an offense to any semi pro that don't get a chance to play and show his skill. Bye g2, better luck with the next lineup.

Although I get what you are saying you are also facing "easier" teams as you have a 0-2 record. North faced HR at 0-2, G2 at 1-2 (which is not a bad team) and will probably play mouz for the 2-2 decider. Nevertheless, if North pull through with this comeback it will be impressive.
2017-01-25 17:14
It's luck of the draw really, they can face teams who they counter well or vice versa. Sometimes it's not the names that count as much as the match up itself, such as facing Gambit on a map Gambit is super strong on (Cobblestone). Nevertheless, a victory is a victory. You never know, they might seem lackluster now but suddenly get blessed by some divine power during the playoffs and make it super deep with amazing plays, in the same time their opponents might not show up. Honestly for me, I hope they do well and not because of the flag on my name but because I would like the encouragement for other Football clubs to join the fray, them bombing right after a Football club signing doesn't give the best impression.

I think look at their Moscow win. They got walked over the first game and struggled for a bit. But once they came alive they really were unbeatable. I hope this happens now!
2017-01-25 18:00
G2 came prepared to loose this game. Their only hope is EnvyUs to beat fnatic so they can get the major spot after the French La Shufflot.
