MK announce disbandment
Mortal Kombat's players have decided to go their separate ways, Emiliyan "spyleadeR" Dimitrov has revealed on Facebook.
At the start of the year, Emiliyan "spyleadeR" Dimitrov and Nikolay "nkl" Krastev revived the Mortal Kombat name and linked up with former Bpro and HEADSHOTBG members with hopes of building another lineup that could stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in Europe.
MK gave a good account of themselves in the first open qualifier for the IEM World Championship, beating the likes of Orgless Kings and ALTERNATE aTTaX before being taken down by GODSENT in the semi-finals in a three-map series.
nkl & co decide to go their separate ways
In a statement, spyleadeR explained that differences in opinion with nkl - his only teammate from the MK side that won the ESEA Global Challenge in Katowice - caused tension within the squad, adding that, despite the players' efforts, the issue could not be resolved.
"We gave our best this month, but things were not like we wanted to, so we decided that the best thing would be for us to part ways," he wrote.
"I am going to take a break to clear my mind. Then, I will decide my future. We would like to thank our fans for their trust."
The following players are now free agents:
Emiliyan "spyleadeR" Dimitrov
Nikolay "nkl" Krastev
Teodor "psycho" Dimov
Nikolay "niki1" Pantaleev
Hristian "shEMETA" Spasov
