North have announced the signing of Philip "aizy" Aistrup from FaZe Clan.
The Danish talent will step into the shoes of Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel, who expressed his wish to step down from the team after their elimination at the ELEAGUE Major.
Philip "aizy" Aistrup returns to a full-Danish team after little over a year with FaZe, whom he joined in January 2016 from G2. During his time with the North American organisation, he found success hard to come by despite the team showing signs of improvement in recent months.
aizy joins North after a year with FaZe
This is the first roster change for the Danish team since signing for F.C. Copenhagen, at the start of the year. The team made their debut under the name North at the ELEAGUE Major, in Atlanta, where they made it through the Swiss round before being knocked out by Virtus.pro in the quarter-finals.
"I was super happy when North first approached me," Aistrup said in a statement.
"I have missed playing on an all-Danish team, and it means a lot to me that I am coming “home” to players that I know and are comfortable around.
"I see a great potential in this team and I am looking forward to giving my all to make it a success!"
aizy will make his official debut for North on Wednesday, against fnatic, in the ESL Pro League. His first offline event will be the $450,000 DreamHack Masters Las Vegas, which will run from February 15-19.
