VG split and expand to two teams
The Chinese organization ViCi Gaming has announced its current lineup will split up and form two new teams that will remain under the same roof, ViCi and VG.Renascence.
After a year on the trail of TYLOO, but never quite able to become the best team in China, ViCi Gaming has decided to make some changes to its team, bringing in a slew of new players and folding them into two teams with the VG.CyberZen players.
Savage will be taking some youngsters under his wing in VG.R
The first time the new ViCi lineup will make an appearance will be at the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 China qualifier where they will be fighting for a spot at the finals in Ukraine. When enquired about the move, ViCi Gaming stated the following:
"CS:GO is growing a lot in China in the amount of people playing as well as tournaments being organized and being hosted here. Playing against foreign teams is still ways away, but looking back to 2016 VG.CyberZEN gave us a lot of good memories.
"At the start of the new season, when the players and management spoke, we decided to split the CS:GO division into two teams, ViCi Gaming and VG.Renascence (or VG.R). The former will feature the VG.CyberZEN players advent, zhokiNg, LOVEYY, will see the return of uki, and will have zmpok and JeXeN to round out the six man roster. The latter is an initiative of Savage and Tb, who will foster young Chinese talents XyGJin, AR, and Supreme. ViCi will play the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 China qualifier, where we hope the new team can get good results."
With the aforementioned changes involving the VG.CyberZEN players and the new acquisitions, ViCi Gaming and VG.Renascence's lineups are now as follows:
