OpTic take down North at DH LV

OpTic have ousted North 16-11 on Inferno in the other Group A opening game at Dreamhack Masters Las Vegas.

In theme with the location of the event, both teams went all in on the veto process and we got to see the first high-level game on the reworked Inferno, where OpTic got off to a great start on CT-side after winning a nail-biting pistol, as Spencer "Hiko" Martin used Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke's own smoke against him in the 1v1 and pulled of the defuse with just 9 HP.

The Danes push into the scoreline was cut short straight after their first round so the Green Wall stormed ahead to a 7-1 lead. Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen's squad did string together a pair of rounds again, but just as the North American side emptied their bank, they stopped the Danish team and crucially denied the potential reset in the 12th round. Keith "NAF" Markovic and co. ended the half with flying colors, 11-4.

The Green Wall put down the gauntlet on Inferno early

North tried setting the rules from the get-go and successfully constricted  OpTic's A push in their CT-pistol, but woefully they lost the force buy as the Danes overextended their map control and were at a 5-14 deficit before they were able to buy up again.

René "cajunb" Borg and the boys fought valiantly against match point, with the Danish veteran showing off with a delicate and swift FAMAS quad killl in the 22nd round from pit. OpTic's lead was shrinking to just four rounds (15-11) as Emil "Magisk" Reif transformed into a turret in the A-site and picked up a triple in blazing fast fashion.

NAF called out the full Tec-9 rush and closed out the map 16-11.

Key Moment: North went too far in the anti-force buy in the 17th round, leaving all but no room for error in their comeback attempt on CT-side.

PotM: Keith "NAF" Markovic was instrumental in securing man advantages for his team as he won 6/12 opening duels, his death being avenged three times as well. Good synergy and teamplay coming out of the newly appointed IGL for OpTic.

good match, they should've won in the magisk 3k round, imo Valve should do something about the molly in pit "bug" if possible
2017-02-15 21:14
what exactly was the bug? I didn't even notice what happened.

Here is the magisk 3K: clips.twitch.tv/dreamhackcs/RichCaribouT.. And here is the moment the molotov lands: i.imgur.com/zwz5r17.png I think it's stupid that the molly is extinguished by that smoke which is a level above and going through a wall
2017-02-15 21:24
Hiko actually good rating when not calling go optic
2017-02-15 21:14
that magisk spray down, and the Cajun 4k... I was sure OpTic would crumble after those moments. They had no business losing those rounds.
2017-02-15 21:17
yea, but they were already a bit too far away in rounds
