fnatic knock Misfits out

The second match of the day, which had fnatic and Misfits going up against each other, ended up with the Swedes taking it on Mirage, 16-9.

The first round of the second elimination match of the day went down to the last second, as Robin "flusha" Rönnquist was able to win a 1vs2 after plant situation by killing "" as he was defusing, to secure the first round for fnatic.

The Swedes were able to take the first gun round thanks to three big entries by Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer, rolling over the North American side and winning the following eco for a 5-0 lead. An aggressive push in apartments by Jesper "JW" Wecksell in the following round got him killed, and Misfits were able to get on the board after materializing on their advantage.

A triple by Skyler "Relyks" Weaver on the seventh round stopped fnatic, and the North Americans chained a second round to bring it to 5-2. The Swedes, however, struck right back with a swift A takeover, which started a roll for fnatic, as the Swedes went on to win three in a row for an 8-2 lead.

olofmeister put the pressure on early

Down by six, Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken were able to retake a B plant after taking JW out to stay in the game. With 4-9 on the board, Misfits took a timeout to try and end the half with enough rounds to at least compete with fnatic in the second half. The Swedes had none of it, though, and closed it 11-4.

The second pistol round went to Misfits, who were able to win the first round of the second half and followed it up winning the anti-ecos, clawing their way back to a 7-11 deficit. With a smooth execute on B, Misfits were able to further shorten the distance with fnatic on the first buy round.

After fnatic’s first win in the second round, leaving the score at 12-9, Misfits took their second timeout. Once again, though, fnatic kept their roll going and closed it out 16-9.

Key moment: olofmeister burst into the A site during the first buy round of the match, getting three early kills and setting the pace for himself and the rest of the team in the first half of the match, which ended 11-4.

PotM: Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer, who had 22 kills in the first half (4 opening frags), and at least one in each of the rounds fnatic won before the switch.

Fnatic will lose against Gambit/VP in bo3 anyway.
2017-02-16 22:14
Yeah, they struggled so hard vs Gambit at the major. Not. And that was with Doplan.
2017-02-16 22:52
Amount of bullshit JW produced during his short interview was just insane.
2017-02-16 22:15
It could be worse, it could be like guardians interview.

I agree, I even felt bad how socially awkward he is. At first I thought it is may be caused by standing in front of the camera, but he is doing this not for the first year.
