Na`Vi see off Renegades

Natus Vincere have picked up their first win at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas after moving past Renegades 16-6 on Mirage.

The match began with Na`Vi getting a clean pistol round after Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev picked up two opening frags in B, with Egor "flamie" Vasilyev following that up with a triple. Renegades were gifted the eco round win after that, however, and the Europeans would take two rounds to get their economy stabilised once again.

s1mple went huge in the next round, holding off a 3v1 retake to complete the ace and give Na`Vi their second round of the game. But Renegades hit back in the following round and started a great run as Na`Vi struggled to break through the Australians' defence.

s1mple was the player of the match

It was only when they were down 2-6 that Na`Vi's offence finally came to life, with the CIS side winning seven rounds in a row to close out the half with a 9-6 lead.

Na`Vi further added to their lead by winning the pistol round as CT with a fast B retake. After losing an eco round, Renegades went for a third-round buy, only to get slaughtered before even entering A. Renegades coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović still called a tactical pause, but there would be no miraculous comeback as Na`Vi would soon hit 16 rounds.

Key moment: Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács's 1v3 clutch in the 12th round, when Renegades were desperate to get a round on the board to build up their bank.

PotM: Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev was a nuisance from start to finish, picking up a stunning ace in the 5th round and winning many aim duels during the rest of the match.
