OpTic to attend IEM Sydney

The North American team OpTic has just been revealed as the fourth team to attend IEM Sydney which is set to take place in May.

Intel Extreme Masters will kick off in Sydney, Australia on May 6th. North America will be represented by OpTic, the organizer just revealed.

Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas, William "RUSH" Wierzba and co. are therefore the fourth team to be confirmed at the event which will feature a ~$200,000 prize pool. OpTic had a rough time in Katowice where they finished at the bottom of the table with a 0-5 record so they will be hungry to do better in Sydney.

2017-03-14 12:22
Idk, event in Australia, no europe and na quals, no good teams with 200.000$ prize pool
2017-03-14 12:30
no good teams...
2017-03-14 12:33
Only SK and Astralis if they dont invite good teams in last 2 invites
2017-03-14 12:44
Do you know how boring it would be to have the same teams compete in EVERY tournament? Even if sk and astralis are most likely to win it still has more variety.
2017-03-14 13:08
By the participants at the moment it doesn't seems be intresting tournament but well let see who win the China qualifier, i think Flash Gaming let see

ffs another wasted invite... fuck the na teams, they are so bad. If vp dont get invited, I guess i'll be watching the final between sk and astralis only.

2017-03-14 15:51
pretty trash tourny tbh, wasted spots with RNG, BOTic, chinaman team and the other oceanic team sad that half the spots are just handouts and not real top teams that deserve to be there because of their capabilities as players
2017-03-14 16:48
Why on earth would they hold an event in Australia and not invite the best Australian team. Although the lack of an eu qualifier is pretty trash.
2017-03-15 01:44
bcuz no1 gives a shit about the trash aussie teams, they're rubbish
2017-03-15 04:45
Not sure if bad b8 or the fact that you have the iq of a sloth. This event is in AUSTRALIA. With Australians going to watch the games. If they want a crowd they will probably want to have an AUSTRALIAN team attending.
2017-03-15 08:32
i'd rather watch good quality cs than appease the immature minds of the majority if they want a crowd they'd have the best teams attending, any tier 1/2 team from eu or na would draw more attention and fans than crappy aussie or chinese teams who are just there to fill a quota
