ANZ qual. for IEM Sydney announced

ESL has announced the Australia & New Zealand qualifier for IEM Sydney and revealed that they will be using a two-part, open and closed qualifier system, with the first matches being played as soon as March 19th.

The ANZ qualifier will kick off this Sunday, March 19th, with the first open qualifier, while the second one will be held a week later, on March 26th. The open qualifiers will be using a best-of-one, single-elimination bracket, and each will yield one spot in the closed qualifier. Sign-ups are open here.

InfrequeNt's Tainted Minds have been invited to the qualifier

Along with the two open qualifier teams, six invited teams will compete in the best-of-three double-elimination closed qualifier, with only the best ANZ squad securing a spot at IEM Sydney. The first matches of the closed qualifier will be held on April 1-2, while the grand final will be played on April 9th.

The following teams have been invited to the closed qualifier:

Australia Tainted Minds Australia Chiefs

IEM Sydney will feature eight teams in total, with four of them already confirmed:

Sry it's hard to explain and it's 6am (Haven't slept, did an all nighter) so I'm really fkn tired.

Winterfox is owned by a NA org and are based out of NA. The logistics and the cost of bringing them over here to ultimately be beaten by either Astralis or SK wouldn't be worth it.
