ECS S3 with $750,000 prize fund

Season 3 of the Esports Championship Series (ECS) will have a $750,000 prize fund, the league's organisers have told

This means that the prize purse remains unchanged from Season 2, with the winning team taking home $250,000.

The $750,000 prize fund accounts for 50 percent of the $1.5M that ECS will pay out over the course of the season, with the rest of the money going towards "supportive funds that will provide player and team stability."

ECS Season 3 will kick off with an online stage, running from April 14 to June 8, and will culminate with the offline finals from June 23-25 at an as-yet undisclosed location.

ECS prize money remains the same

All 20 competing sides for the online portion of ECS have been determined following the end of the promotion stage across the two regions in which it is played. In Europe, and Fnatic were able to retain their spots in the league, while in North America, Renegades and Bee's Money Crew took the spots that belonged to TSM and compLexity, respectively.

ECS made headlines earlier this month after FACEIT announced a multi-year partnership with YouTube Gaming as the league's exclusive streaming partner. The first two ECS seasons were streamed on Twitch, which was a founding partner of the tournament.

YouTube Gaming is pure shit! Quality sucks even on 1080p60 and it takes up A LOT of bandwidth. Worst decision ever going from Twitch to YouTube PLEASE GO BACK TO TWITCH
2017-03-29 12:19
more like it randomly drop to 144p to me
2017-03-29 12:43
You probably have it set to "Auto" on the quality. Actually set it to "1080p60" and it won't change, regardless of internet connection or changing to a different tab
2017-03-29 13:38
It happens anyway, even after I set it on 1080p60, but this time to 480p. Problem is, I dont know why. On 1080p60 it is running as it should, no buffering or whatever.

true... it is unreliable unlike twitch
2017-03-29 12:46
if u disregard the chat and remember that twitch is very far from perfect as well, thats not a huge issue. the main problem i have with this is: why did u switch to yt if ur not even if making more money off it? prizepool is the exact same so what did u accomplish? twitch stopped funding?
2017-03-29 13:23
Prize pool may be the same but YT may be paying ECS themselves more.
2017-03-29 13:39
yeah but idc if the boss of faceit drives a ferrari or no =/
2017-03-29 14:00
Lol ofc they get paid much more from utube, no way they otherway did it cuz surely viewing numbers will heavily go down with this xd...
2017-03-29 14:28
so whys the prizepool the same? and rly ill be watching or not regardless of the platform. most ppl are just being dicks about it.
2017-03-29 14:50
Cuz they want to put some money to their pockets? Also as u say could be twitch wasn't going to invest as much this season so they chose youtube cuz of this. I mean not like twitch really needs this league anyway, they are most popular streaming platform by far and it doesn't look like it is going to change no matter what.
