North to playoffs over FaZe

North have advanced to the playoffs of the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 Finals after defeating FaZe 16-13 on Cache.

North started as Counter-Terrorists on Cache and although Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke opened the match with a USP-S kill, it was Philip "aizy" Aistrup who secured the round with a 1v2 clutch, completing a triple-kill. The Danish team continued to take rounds, including the first buy round, and jumped out to a 5-0 lead.

k0nfig was one of the key figures for North

FaZe were then able to win the second buy round as they executed A, but in the following one Emil "Magisk" Reif and aizy secured a flawless A defense for the 6-1 lead. Aleksi "allu" Jalli's team had to save but, as they bought weapons, the Finnish player did a triple-kill to help his team secure their second round.

One more round went North's way until Nikola "NiKo" Kovač picked his Deagle and did the opening kill in the eleventh round, which ended with a triple-kill by the Bosnian player. k0nfig and aizy then had a triple and a double-kill, respectively, before Finn "karrigan" Andersen's squad won one more to finish the first half 6-9.

In the second half, North executed A to win the pistol round and the subsequent two. Håvard "rain" Nygaard & co. easily won the first buy round, but the following ones were more keenly-contested, with FaZe cutting the gap to 10-12.

After losing four rounds in a row, the Danish team finally won one but their opponents continued to win rounds to tie the score at 13-13. In the following round, a quad-kill by Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen – which included an amazing 1v2 clutch – brought North back into the game, and they went on to win the next three rounds to close out the match 16-13.

PotM: Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke is our Player of the Match because he had the most kills (33), ADR (105.1) and rating (1.8) of the game. He also had impact in both sides and did six opening kills across the map, which helped his team control FaZe's economy and prevail at the end.

Sir allu is the second best player in faze.
2017-04-07 14:16
if fnatic get FaZe or SK in decider match and Immortals get CLG or HellRaisers this tournament is officially fucking rigged I hope we don't see the likes of IMT and CLG in the playoffs

The players didn't want seeding, I'm sure some of them regret it now, or they will.
2017-04-07 14:24
horrendous if some lower-tier teams can go to playoffs just by beating shit-tier teams while others have to battle through top 5 teams
2017-04-07 14:33
we could get immortals nip
2017-04-07 14:28
those could be good matchups for fnatic, they've had a rough path so far imo compared to teams like IMT
