CPH Games groups set

Copenhagen Games' BYOC tournament has come to an end, with eight teams moving on to the main competition.

PRIDE and iGame.com, two of the favourites heading into the qualifier, managed to break into the top eight without too much trouble, with the Polish team surviving a close three-map series against ALTERNATE aTTaX in the Round of 32.

Defusekids, the Benelux-based team featuring former Splyce member Joey "CRUC1AL" Steusel, beat Binary Dragons 2-0, the same scoreline by which Ambush moved past Alpha, thanks to a strong individual display from Jacob "s0mmer" Sommer.

CRUC1AL's defusekids through to main tournament

Led by 14-year-old David "frozen" Čerňanský, eXtatus edged out Norse in a nail-biting series. eFuture, who are attending the event with two players on trial, completed a reverse sweep against Red Reserve, powered by Rasmus "SandeN" Sanden, who racked up 33 frags on Train.

The following teams have advanced from the BYOC qualifier to the main tournament:

Slovakia eXtatus Denmark Ambush
Netherlands Defusekids Poland PRIDE
Denmark eFuture Finland iGame.com
Denmark North Academy Denmark Singularity

The main tournament will begin with a best-of-one double-elimination group stage, with the top two teams from each group advancing to a best-of-three single-elimination bracket:

Shame, I really wanted to see Binary Dragons in the main tournament... Maybe they're just not meant to be without NiKo
