'GAMERZ' to premiere tonight
Esports reality show 'Gamerz' will premiere tonight, with the first episode showing the selection process, featuring hundreds of players wishing to be part of the next international CS:GO team.
Twelve players, handpicked by Marcus "Delpan" Larsson and Zainab "zAAz" Turkie during a casting event at DreamHack Winter, will be living during three weeks in a gaming house located outside of Stockholm as they hope to secure professional contracts.
These contestants will be split into two teams, coached by Abdisamad "SpawN" Mohamed and Oskar "ins" Holm, two of the most successful Swedish 1.6 figures. The players will be taking part in daily challenges, with viewers able to follow every move through 26 cameras placed around the house.
SpawN is one of the two coaches of 'GAMERZ'
Viewers will also be given the chance to challenge underperforming contestants, and, in case of victory, will take their places in the teams. In the end, the top five players will sign six-month contracts with 'GAMERZ'.
"’GAMERZ’ offers the best from two worlds: TV’s ability to convey emotion and to entertain meets the gaming cultures high standards when it comes to culture and interactivity," said 'GAMERZ' Executive Producer Robert Jönsson.
"It has been both fun and challenging to combine both the huge task of creating a pro team from scratch, with our ambition to entertain our demanding viewers."
'Gamerz' premieres tonight, at 21:00 , and will be streamed 24/7 on a number of platforms, including Twitch, Youtube, Znipe and Facebook, with renowned caster Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat serving as host.
In addition to the daily live show, a number of "viral segments" will be produced, featuring popular streamer Swebliss and secret guests.
