FaZe edge past North in OT

FaZe have picked up their second victory at IEM Sydney after edging past North 19-16 on Cache.

The match began with a fast A execution from FaZe, with Håvard "rain" Nygaard opening up the site with two entry frags. The European mixture followed that up with both anti-ecos to bring the scoreline to a 3-0 advantage, but the first gun round went North's way thanks to a trio of kills from Philip "aizy" Aistrup in the A site.

North went on to win the next two rounds, the second of which with a 1v2 clutch from Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, taking advantage of a huge misplay from FaZe. The Danes' double AWP setup was proving very effective, but then they were caught off-guard by a force buy from FaZe. That was the start of a great run from the Terrorists, who would close out the half with a commanding 11-4 lead.

FaZe are now 2-1 in Sydney

The Danish team came back into the game looking very lively and showed their prowess as Terrorists by taking the first four rounds of the half. In an eco round, FaZe were able to bring North's streak to an end, with the European mixture adding two more rounds to their tally to secure a 14-8 lead.

After dropping the next three rounds, FaZe hit match point at 15-11, but they were unable to close out the game as North strung four rounds together to tie the game at 15-15. In overtime, North drew first blood, but then FaZe swept past their opponents, winning four rounds in a row to lock down the map, 19-16.

im ashamed in you mirra striker worked hard to find all these synonyms and you ruin it
2017-05-04 10:03
since it was 8 teams the swiss system doesnt really work that well. so you will have 3 teams that are 2-1 and 3 teams that are 1-2. so lets say SK lose optic vs faze renegades vs north and sk(2-1) vs chiefs (1-2) (these are not real matchups, just an example)

FaZe not looking too strong this tournament
2017-05-04 08:50
Yep like on SL when they almost out
2017-05-04 08:54
They just peak late in the tournament instead of the group stage.
2017-05-04 09:05
Yeah okay and theyre still 2-1 ???? Lmao
2017-05-04 10:22
Yeah but they're not playing great.. barely winning against North, getting matched against Renegades who are clearly a weaker team - no surprise they won that.

ok, is it possible that at least once msl is not worst in his team. i know he's igl and it's not his job to frag but only once to be in +
2017-05-04 08:55
How does Swiss work when there are 3 2-1 and 3 1-2 Teams?
2017-05-04 08:56
It breaks because there is not 16 teams they will have to play one with a worse

I already thought it was kinda dumb that they used the swiss system for an 8-team tourney.
