Liquid stun OpTic; North beat NRG

While North have secured their second victory after defeating NRG, Liquid have picked up their first win after stunning OpTic.

After losing the pistol round on Nuke, OpTic seemed like they were about to win the force-buy following a double-kill from Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas. Despite not being able to do it, OpTic's defense prevailed in the gun round as they were up against a fast A execution.

Despite losing against Na`Vi, Liquid are focused on getting through the group stage

Regardless of both teams winning rounds back to back until the ninth, Liquid won seven rounds in a row to assure a 12-3 lead by the end of the first half. As the second half began, OpTic grabbed the pistol round. Still, after losing one more, Liquid went out to close off the map 16-5.

During the other group B match, NRG guaranteed their T-side pistol after executing A through drop on Cobblestone. However, North was the first team to reach the three rounds following a force and a buy-round win.

North have secured their second victory in Dallas

NRG then almost pulled off the seventh round, but a triple-kill from Emil "Magisk" Reif had guaranteed yet another round in favor of his team. From that moment onward, the first half proved to be a one-sided affair as North finished it off with an unavoidable 14-1 lead.

As for the second half, the Danes lost the pistol round once more. This time, the North Americans did not let their adversaries win another force-buy. Actually, Peter "ptr" Gurney's team went on picking up six rounds before North closed off the map 16-7.

JDM is serious a lan god! He always shows up on lan. Consistent. Look at his old stats from 2014 until now on lan.

Nice job reading!

stun is not the right word here whatsoever. Liquid were the favorites, and they dominated the entire game, no comeback or anything.
2017-05-31 04:45
Wouldnt say that. The last LAN match Liquid played vs OpTic, they lost 2-1. And Liquid and OpTic go back and forth online. Nothing suggests they are the favorite

his point still stands.

At worst it's a 50/50 match roughly. Still nowhere near the odds for a "stun". Tyloo "stunned" LG, for example.

"Stun"
2017-05-31 09:41
As it was already pointed out, Optic were not clear favorites to be "stunned" because of a loss to Liquid.
