The PC part manufacturer Ballistix announced that the Fnatic Academy roster will play under their banner in the PGL EU Minor.

Formed back in August 2016, fnatic Academy looked like a promising roster representing the well-known Major winning organisation. After playing together ten months and undergoing one roster change, Alex "Karus" Saglamoglu and his men showed decent results with one of their greatest achievements being victorious at 2016 China Top.

Golden and his team change organisations

Ballistix, one of the main partners of fnatic, have now stated that the roster of fnatic Academy will play under their organisation's name in the PGL EU Minor in Bucharest, Romania. The Swedish team will fight for a share of the $50,000 prizepool and a coveted slot for the PGL Major Krakow 2017 Main Qualifier.

 Ballistix's roster is the following:

Sweden David "Jayzwalkingz" Kempner
Sweden Niclas "PlesseN" Plessen
Sweden Maikil "Golden" Selim
Sweden Alex "Karus" Saglamoglu
Sweden Linus "Bååten" Andersson

They had to, as they rise they would have not been able to go to all the tournaments as the academy team cannot qualify for a major where another team of the organisation is already playing in

I still feel like that's the right move to do, first to have their own name and not being the little fnatic, but also to be able to grow properly as a team, so I'm still happy for them

+1 I was never cheering for them (I don't like fnatic much) But now I guess that they will become my favorite underdogs in all tournaments. Good luck to them.

Nice. I know this was forced due to the new rules, but I actually think this is kinda how Academy teams should be treated. Doesn't make much sense to me to have an Academy team that qualifies to the Minor (or even Major). At that point it really isn't an "academy" any more - that is more than enough to be considered an actual Tier 2/3 team. Imo the Academy teams should host up-and-coming young players who are yet relatively unknown in the scene and give them a platform to evolve, and then allow them to be bought up by a decent org once they show some results (so no ridiculous buyouts or other scummy shit). Edit: I realize this is a temp org during the Minor only, but afaik Fnc.A are looking for a real org to pick them up due to the new rules.
