eXTREMESLAND 2017 announced

The second edition of the eXTREMESLAND LAN has been announced, with the 2017 tournament once again set to feature a $100,000 prize pool and 16 teams from the Asia-Oceania region in competition.

Last year's eXTREMESLAND, that was played on September 22-25, was won by ViCi, who were able to pull off a 2-1 victory against the Australian side Renegades.

ViCi took the title and $40,000 at last year's eXTREMESLAND

Not much seemingly changed this time around, as again 16 teams will be present at the as the $100,000 LAN Finals in Shanghai, China, but a at a slightly later date - eXTREMESLAND 2017 will be played out on October 19-22.

The qualifiers will, similarly to last year, be split into 14 regions, with each region having a single spot at the LAN Finals except China, who will have three representatives amongst the 16 attending teams.

According to the press release, the LAN spots will be distributed in the following way:

China China #1 China China #2
China China #3 Mongolia Mongolia
Other Middle East  India India
Indonesia Indonesia Australia Australia
Thailand Thailand Malaysia Malaysia
Taiwan Taiwan Singapore Singapore
Philippines Philippines Vietnam Vietnam
Korea Korea Japan Japan

Starting dates of the regional qualifiers are yet unknown, but should, along with the signup details, be released soon on the tournament's official website.

It's like they say "China has all the best team in the Asia-Oceania region xddd" Nah, jk. The tourney is in made-by-China so it makes sense to invite more chinese teams, but it doesn't make sense to distribute all of the rest of the slot to one country each. Maybe they should do open qualifier that is not necessarily for one country. With that intact, we will have the strongest teams from Asia-Oceania region to battle. For instance, you have Signature and 7642 in the Thai region. Both is a decent team to play, but only one will go to the tourney.

Well you got teams like inchk1ng, EATMYC, ENZO performed. Like ENZO actually qualified WESG Global finals through APAC finals. Yeah I know some of them are banned/disbanded. But I hardly could tell a Taiwan team playing on big stages.
