BIG crush EnVyUs, book last Main Qualifier spot

BIG have secured the last spot at the PGL Major's Main Qualifier after decimating EnVyUs 2-0 (Cobblestone 16-4, Overpass 16-6) in the Europe Minor's lower bracket final.

Kevin "keev" Bartholomäus kicked off the match for the last spot at the Main Qualifier with a quad-kill in the pistol round, with BIG starting on the CT side of Cobblestone. After Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom each put up two entries in the following two rounds, the score was soon equal at 3-3.

From there on, the half was firmly in the hands of the German squad, whose keev proceeded to get another highlight reel with an ace on A long, and BIG eventually conceded only one more round for a dominant 11-4 half.

EnVyUs never recovered on their own CT side, losing the second pistol round and forcebuying again and again afterwards, which allowed BIG to pick up map one at 16-4.

BIG book the last Main Qualifier spot

On Overpass, it was Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz who gave BIG the pistol round on the Terrorist side with four kills, as the German side got off to an amazing start.

It took EnVyUs eight rounds to reply, with ScreaM opening up the round with two AWP kills, while Christophe "SIXER" Xia pitched in by getting a double in a 2v2 for two rounds in a row.

BIG still switched over with a marvellous half, leading 11-4 right after EnVyUs picked up two more rounds at the very end on the back of Alexandre "xms" Forté's 1v3 clutch.

Fatih "gob b" Dayik and company once again took little to finish things off, picking the Frenchmen apart in the second pistol round and surviving the following forcebuy by the skin of their teeth. Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's squad clinched two rounds up against match point, but that was all she wrote as BIG closed the series with a 3v3 retake at 16-6.

To be fair there is no way they would have qualifyed for the actual major playing like that so it would have been a major without him most likely anyway.

"EnVyUs is back" they said. Yeah this team was never back. All they did was win some BO1 upsets at pro league finals and then made it through groups by the dumb MR6 matches. Now they are back to bring tier 3 on LAN as usual :)

Even when they win, nex is still so shaky on LAN. Needs to fix that shit if they hope to have even the slightest chance at the Main Qualifier

What happened to EnvyUs? They looked so promising at the ESL Pro League finals and then they come to the minor qualifier and they completely shit the bed. They were awful all tournament long. So disappointing considering the talent they possess. As for BIG, God TabseN top fragging again.

God damn it nV :/ Why? Happy wasn't in a good day again? They've got so much potential and they've shown it against SK, IMT, and C9. But this... BIG is a great team. But they had two chances to beat Premier Teams and they got crushed 2 times. With LDLC we could've gotten more than 3 french teams in the Major qualifier... If LDLC would've won this last match against Dignitas, we would have at least one french team qualified. We have NONE.
