DEVIL to join LDLC

Former EnVyUs member Timothée "DEVIL" Démolon is poised to join LDLC, the French organisation has confirmed.

According to a report from Flickshot.fr, the 22-year-old will step into the shoes of Valentin "⁠mistou⁠" Balbastro, who has been moved to a backup position LDLC look to fine-tune their squad following a series of disappointing results.

LDLC began the year with a semi-final appearance at DreamHack Leipzig, but a recent poor run of form has seen them bow out of Copenhagen Games and the Europe Minor in the group stages.

DEVIL will wear LDLC's jersey once again

After being left out of Envy, Timothée "⁠DEVIL⁠" Démolon created Queen Consolidated and then MAXISAUCISSE. With the latter, he won Gamers Assembly 2017 and Geek Days 2017, but despite that domestic success, the team failed to find an organisation willing to support them.

DEVIL is no stranger to LDLC, having represented the organisation's White squad between 2015 and 2016. During his time with the team, which he left to join EnVyUs, he most notably won ASUS ROG Winter 2016.

LDLC, who will compete in ESL Pro League Season 6, are expected to confirm DEVIL's addition shortly. This will be the team's first roster change since February, when Mathieu "⁠Maniac⁠" Quiquerez was brought in as a replacement for Alexandre "⁠xms⁠" Forté, who joined Envy.

With these changes, LDLC's roster will look as follows:

Antoine "⁠to1nou⁠" Pirard
Mathieu "⁠Maniac⁠" Quiquerez

UPDATE: LDLC have since confirmed that DEVIL will replace mistou on the roster, with the latter being moved to a backup position.

i heard the first time LDLC didnt recruit devil when they got ex6tenz, was because devil was too much of a leader, and 2 leaders have a hard time on the same team .. wonder how that have changed

First of all, DEVIL realized that he can't compete with Ex6TenZ, unless he's an idiot lol. Second, LDLC is a top30 team, has an EPL spot and has waaaaay more potential as a fragger, than mistou. Guess it just got obvious for both parts what had to happen.

It was also the reason why Ex6TenZ didn't want Maniac at first (not a real igl but he likes giving his opinion about how the team should play) I think they will work hard on a playstyle which fit everyone, then Ex6 will be of course the decision maker in game.

i have never seen him good. but i have seen the highest percentage of misplays out of all situations where he coulda made a misplay out of all "pros" that i have ever watched. they could probably saw open his head, remove the brain, fill the cavity with potato mash, stitch him back up and he would pretty much function as he did before.

Whatever moves, next year (after the end of his high school scholarship) the worst player of nV/LDLC will be replace by Zywoo. We can expect some move with devoduvek/amanek after they rekt NA scene with misfit.

Are they doing that well? They remind me of the UK duo Surreal/Deph, talked up to be good players from their respected region but not really capable beyond tier 2.

devo/amanek arent "respected" here. They were newcomers from french sub top. If im right they started esport in 2014 it is really recent compare to the top EU scene. Some of best players play competitive since more than 10 years already. About gap with T1 for exemple, Im not sure that any of LDLC players can make it but im convinced that amanek and devoduvek, with proper trainning and competitions, can. The only achievement I can give u about them is to be owning in FPL (u know here in Europe ESEA doesnt matter for pros). They also had few international good result with Vexed. Another exemple : some of u call frenchies has mad runner with pistols. Amanek was some of the first using this strat in a competitive match here. Amanek impress me more than devoduvek, but somehow, professional team (nV) took devoduvek and not amanek. It must be because devoduvek is somewhat better than amanek. But nV move was, to me, wrong. They are a duo. They always shine (in french sub top) as a duo. So to take only one is wrong. Misfits (manager is french (KennyS brother) btw perhaps it explain why) did the good move: take them both. Since we EU doesnt think that NA scene is highly competitive we believe our new talent can show good results there.

AmaNEk is doing really well (clearly the best player with Shahzam on that team), devoduvek has been a bit (not massively but he has been quite regularly underperforming slightly) disappointing on the other hand.

DEBIL :) LDLC is lowest tier anyway, so this addition doesn't hurt. Ex6 is a great leader but the lineup is to damn weak to achieve anything relevant. means it's a time waste to the fullest, but they gotta know.
